I've tried a few different studios for Bikram in Chicago and the teachers at Bikram Yoga River North are BY FAR the best. They are knowledgable and engaged in helping all students develop a vibrant practice. Mike & Heather are my personal favorites but I haven't had a class with a teacher whom I didn't love. Also, the new (not quite so new now but will always be so to me) on Erie, is beautiful! If you haven't tried Bikram before, this is definitely the place to start!

Been practicing at BYRN for some time and keep coming back. The heat and workout is top notch, the facilities are spotless, and the teachers are truly world class. The routine can be exhausting :) but anyone can do it, and I always leave feeling relaxed, and then sleep great that night. And how great is it that Whole Foods is just down the block!? If you're nearby, consider yourself lucky as BYRN is one of the best studios out there.

I love Bikram Yoga River North. The staff is friendly and supportive which is very encouraging especially since I can flake out when it comes out to discipline around exercise in general. I like that the instructors are consistent in their instruction. I enjoy taking class from all the instructors because with the variety I hear something different in the nuances of their delivery which helps my practice. The consistancy of the instruction enables me to focus on each word thus increasing the meditative value. The Studio is very clean and is very large with lots of mirrors. The locker rooms are also clean and spacious with showers. I like that mats, water and coconut water are available for purchase and at a reasonable price, this is helpful because it can be hard for me to lug a mat around the city and limits my excuse not to attend directly after work. The package prices are excellent compared to other studios in my area (Streeterville) and I understand also there are package deals available on Groupon.

Having been to a few different studios, I do really appreciate the professionalism of BYRN. I've had a few different instructors here so far and all are very knowledgeable and helpful in teaching you the practice. The space is big enough to allow for many studios to participate during any session which is nice. I love bikram yoga in general and it has done wonders for my knee recovery thus far. I have ways to go but it has been a good start so far at BYRN!

The studio is always super clean and the locker rooms are great. There is always room for my stuff to go in a locker and showering/getting ready is a breeze. They have bags for you to put your wet clothes in and hair dryers with a giant mirror so you can easily get ready after showering. The instructors are very clear and precise with cues for the different expressions and available after class if you have questions. They have tons of class times which is great. I really enjoy going here. I wish they offered free towels for showering because two towels, a yoga mat, change of clothes, and water bottle is a lot to bring for one class.

BYRN was the first studio I started bikram yoga practice and have been spoiled by it since. I have tried other studios throughout personal and business travels and have yet to find one that compares more favorably. The instructors are very knowledgeable and take the time to help you understand and perfect your practice. They are great with the dialogue, something I've come to appreciate through my 3yrs of practice to continually challenge myself. On a separate, but perhaps equally important note, the studio is incredibly clean and well-kept. For a bikram studio, this can easily keep an unpleasant odor, as I noticed in many studios I frequented while living in San Francisco for 6mos, but not BYRN. Overall, this is a great studio, with positive instructors and a great place to work on your practice whether it be just a visit or a place to call your yogi "home."

I want to start by saying that I thought the Instructor was extremely kind and knowledgable. I so appreciated that she introduced me by name at the beginning of the class as a first timer to the studio. I wanted to like this class, but it was too challenging for me, and I used to frequent heated Bikram classes. Perhaps I'm just rusty, but the class felt so overwhelmingly hot that I felt like I was going to faint. I wish there had been music and that the lights had been dimmed. The room looks like a giant gymnasium and I think it would have been more intimate that way. Overall, I didn't have the chops to make it through the class (did shavasana for most of the time) and I'm pretty accustomed to heated yoga in general.

The studio is convenient, has great/clean/large facilities, and great teachers. I'm new to Bikram and the instructors have a great balance of making sure I'm was doing the poses correctly and interrupting the class (e.g. would come whisper to me instead). Only a 4 since I wish they also offered non-90 minute classes (ie not Bikram) since it's hard to carve out that much time.
