"You must go on, I can't go on, I'll go on." - Samuel Beckett
The last time I wrote the words above was in a paper summarizing the banter of novels that Beckett wrote some 70 years ago. The sentence moved me as a 16 year old, and it moves me now some 13 years later.
It is also a great run on sentence to kick off this weekend!
As humans the only thing we CAN do is go on. In the workout, in the long ride, on pieces of our day we wish we could remove or the early morning wake up calls. Failing to go on is failing ourselves and giving ourselves any other option is failing.
So go on, in to your weekend, into your long run, or into a slow walk. But please, go on - today is a gift and we must go on.
