To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his call, and may fulfil every good resolve and work of faith by his power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. - 1 Thessalonians 1:11-12 (RSVCE) http://fal.cn/K_lW

My mother had a triple bypass and she is doing okay. I think the good Lord gave us something to think about that we know will happen in my lifetime and to be ready for the inevitable. Thank you my lord in heaven.

The Bible is filled with hundreds of metaphors for God, yet Christians tend to limit themselves to only a few: shepherd, father, rock, king. A few of the obscure lyrical ones include clothing, beekeeper, a loaf of bread, and cypress tree! We interviewed Lauren Winner about her new book "Wearing God: Clothing, Laughter, Fire, and Other Overlooked Ways of Meeting God," which explores the facscinating but less familiar metaphors for God that we find in the Bible. Read the interview here: http://fal.cn/K__a

"The real trouble about the duty of forgiveness is that you do it with all your might on Monday and then find on Wednesday that it hasn’t stayed put and all has to be done over again." - C.S. Lewis, describing his struggle to forgive the doctor who didn't diagnose his wife's cancer in time to treat it http://fal.cn/K_U3

Of Course, It is True, We are humans, made out of flesh and blood.  At Times, Even the Wounds are Healed, the Scars are remains. But, We have to Ask Our Good Lord, to Teach us Also, Like How He is Able to Forget, the Moment He Forgives!

An interesting article at Time about the history of Ash Wednesday observance in the U.S.: http://fal.cn/KMr6
In the United States, the practice of wearing a cross on the forehead only recently became widespread

Today is Shrove Tuesday, the day before Lent begins--known in some countries as Mardi Gras, Fat Tuesday, or even Pancake Tuesday (because people would feast--presumably on pancakes--before the fasting period of Lent began). Are you or your church community marking today in any special way? http://fal.cn/K_OQ

"Generally, it isn't until the end of our lives when we discover what we really lived for while we walked this earth. It is good to take a moment and reflect and redirect our focus and think about the way we live out our faith." Watch this week's video devotional from Sheri Rose Shepherd: http://fal.cn/K_MR

How do you plan to observe Lent this year (if you're observing it at all)? Extra Bible reading, abstaining from a particular habit or food, volunteer work, or something else? Vote in our survey here and let us know how you're marking the Easter season: http://fal.cn/K__1

If any of you needs wisdom to know what you should do, you should ask God, and he will give it to you. God is generous to everyone and doesn’t find fault with them. When you ask for something, don’t have any doubts. A person who has doubts is like a wave that is blown by the wind and tossed by the sea. A person who has doubts shouldn’t expect to receive anything from the Lord. A person who has doubts is thinking about two different things at the same time and can’t make up his mind about anything. - James 1:5-8 (GW) http://fal.cn/K_Uc
