I realised that I was under “press silence” a few weeks ago, I looked back and I understood that this time has been a time of change as well: I’ve been growing, and Bianco with me. So, I decided to celebrate this incredibly intense moment in my professional life with a new website, which is going to be online in the coming weeks. I can’t wait to share with you all the result of the work my team and I made in the past few weeks, but meanwhile I edited this selection of favourites of mine… definitely not all the one I would have loved to publish, but I promise all these full stories are going to hit the blog very soon in the new website. See you in 2018!

A romantic Paris elopement has a good start when the first look is in the courtyard of the five-star Hotel D’Aubusson, it gets even better if the ceremony is at Jardin du Luxembourg, but it will get just as charming as possible if it ends with a reception at Lapérouse on the rive gauche. I loved every minute of this intimate celebration, from the walk around Paris that Kristin and Frank did with me in the morning, to the moving en-plein-air ceremony, to the relaxing drink at one of the most charming restaurants I got to visit so far. I was particularly enraptured by the story of the mirrors in the private rooms… you can read all about it here, so I won’t steal more time and I’ll leave you with the images of this lovely day!

Last year has been pretty full of changes in my private and professional life, and the ones that have probably been the hugest one in both areas got to cross in a quite unexpected way: while sharing my experience in a few conferences and one to one sessions, I get continuously asked about my experience with pregnancy and work. Even if I’m definitely no example, I do believe that sharing is one of the hugest gifts of our times and if my experience can be helpful even to one and only one of the people who asked about this in the last few months… then it is worthy to be shared. That being said, here a few insights I’ve learned so far...

It was quite some time I was dreaming about shooting a destination wedding in Venice, but this one has been beyond my wildest dreams. I can’t help starting with the very first email Nadine wrote me… it was just a few details and I was already in love with the whole event. If the locations wouldn’t have been enough themselves, I felt immediately connected with her: we share the same love for Peggy Guggenheim to start with, we both deeply love art, and she introduced me to the lovely girls behind Venice First, who soon became one of my favourite team to work with. If you’ll have a look at the wonders they created for this wedding, you’ll easily understand why (besides, as said, they are among the loveliest people I got the privilege to work with). Also, this has been my first chance to assist to a Jewish ceremony, which has deeply moved and fascinated me indeed. As said though, this is going to be a long one, so I won’t keep you here reading my words when I can tell you everything with the images!

Strangely enough, even though I’m Italian and I’ve been doing this job for a while now, this has been the very first occasion I got to shoot a destination wedding in Tuscany. I’ve always loved Tuscany since one of my uncles, who I’m very attached to, comes from a tiny town close to Monte Amiata: these places have always got a particular, sentimental appeal to me. This year I started to have the chance to work in the area as well, and probably because of my recent wedding and my ongoing pregnancy, everything felt even a bit more emotional to me: now I can’t wait to be back the coming June, working and travelling with my husband and my baby boy… but you see, I’m falling deeper and deeper into emotions already!

Honestly, as first destination wedding in Tuscany, I couldn’t have dreamt for anything better than this: first of all, the location was the absolutely breathtaking Borgo Pignano, a corner of paradise in the hills around Volterra; secondly, the whole wedding has been styled by one of my favourite team of wedding planners in the world, Chic Weddings in Italy, with what I would call “a flavour of Dolce & Gabbana style”; more, the videographers were the über talented Velare (you can see their amazing work at the end of the page) and last but definitely not least the couple is one of the sweetest ones I got to witness promising love one another. Ever. I know, I’m a very, very lucky girl.

I think the best way to welcome 2017 is to be grateful for the year that just ended: it has been quite a year indeed, I got married myself and I travelled all over the world, I got to shoot in incredible places and I got pregnant, I started to develop new projects in education and some new ones that will be online very soon… if I think about all the things that happened it really feels like the list is almost endless. This is why I’m so grateful, at the end of the year I admit I was quite tired but I love my life to be full and rich of different projects, both work and personal wise… the year to come will definitely be at least as full as the one passed, and if on one hand is almost scaring, on the other one I’m enthusiast about the new challenges that will come. I hope to share them with you and meanwhile I’ll leave you with my personal favourite images of this 2016 season, my best of wedding photography… and some personal touches.

[my life, lately] Apparently, wedding photographers get married as well! A few memories of my own wedding (special thanks to The Kitcheners, I Fiori di San Lorenzo, Antico Caffé Dante, Aldo Coppola, Pearls to Pigeons and The Gentleman of Verona Grand Relais), plus things that happened right after.
