Bhutan Travel, A once in a lifetime trip (Katherine and family)

Five years ago I read an article about Bhutan and its dedication to Gross National Happiness, Buddhism and the preservation of its culture and I was fascinated. Last year, my partner, Philip agreed that we should go to celebrate my 40th birthday; I was so excited.
The hardest part of organising the holiday was choosing from the 300 selected tour operators to take us on our “once in a lifetime” trip. I emailed three and Adventure Planet Travels answered the most swiftly and were clearly the most helpful. It so turns out that we

Afforestation; a noble environmental initiatives by Bhutan government

"March 6 witnessed a mass tree plantation nationwide, which is organized by the Tendrel Initiative, coinciding with the birth of Royal Prince. In total 108,000 tree saplings were planted countrywide on the same day and at the same time.

Here in the capital city Thimphu thousands of people from different walks of life joined the event. The afforestation mostly took place at Kuenselphodrang vicinity, the same venue where Bhutan set Genius World in 2015 for having planted nearly 50,000 trees in one hour by 100 people".

The Surrealistic Chelela Pass
Saddled at an altitude of 3,899 meters above the sea level, Chelela mountain pass is the highest of its kind in the country. It is located between the western district of Haa and Paro. Historically, the traders and rural folks used this ancient trail as a common gateway to build business network and facilitate conventional mode of transportation with rest of the places.

Had a wonderful Bhutan trip
"Hi Ugyen,We had a wonderful trip.  Bhutan is truly a special place. Beautiful, rugged, and peaceful.
Nidup and Namgay were excellent hosts.  They were knowledgeable, courteous, and very helpful.  Most importantly, they tolerated crude humor from two crude Americans.  It was Nidup and Namgay who made the trip special for me as much as the temples and mountains".

"Bhutan and Japan will celebrate 30 years of close diplomatic relations in 2016. After the visit of His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen in 2011, the awareness of Kingdom of Bhutan increased among Japanese. This led to huge increase in arrivals in 2012 and developed positive perceptions of Bhutan.
