Loving expert Italian professor is expert an expert in his field. Instruction is based on positive reinforcement and encouragement. Class is a fun, relaxed form of learning-Enrico is an asset to the program. The new administration is a delightful way of being greeted and so helpful to attend to students' needs. Vera is flexible and such a positive influence on every aspect of the overall program. What a great experience:)

I have been taking classes here for about one year. I take the lowest level Advanced French class. This is a serious school for people who really want to learn a language. You will have a textbook and homework, and the classes won't be easy, . I have experienced four of the French instructors, and each of them has been excellent, although different from each other. The price of the classes is comparable or better than the other schools I looked at.

BHLI is my lifesaver. The teachers are the best I ever have had in taking 6 foreign languages over my 68 years of life. At a max of 10 students, we talk and laugh all the time, see and discuss films, write journals, go to dinner together a couple of times a year. I am taking French from Julien, who is kind and gentle. With no pressure, I have learned French in 2 years at 1.5 hours per week. That is learning a language in only 147 hours of class time - incredibly fast, since it took me 7 years of classes at other schools, including UCLA, to get to this point in Spanish - and I am now understanding French TV and radio, and reading French novels. The student population is an extremely bright group of people, as is the staff, and making fast friends is so easy. jk

To maintain my French language skills, I enrolled in Advanced French classes at the Beverly Hills Lingual institute in 2013-2014. Most important to me were the practice of speaking French to refresh pronunciation and reading French novels to develop vocabulary. My French instructor for these past 3 terms (Marie Christine) has kept the class interesting with current literature which becomes a platform for discussion in French. She reviews the most complex passages in class to check your understanding of the text and to flag words you likely would not know. She must have one of the best French "r's" in LA. She corrects your French but not to the point of killing the flow of conversation. Homework is assigned but not to the point of taking over your life. Although my experience is limited to this one French instructor, who is outstanding, rumor has it that other teachers at the Institute are also excellent. The school offers instruction in many different languages at a wide variety of times and days during the week. The classes are invariably small yet surprisingly affordable. On occasion, parking can be challenging, however, mostly, public parking facilities are adequate allowing for 2 hours of free parking at no cost for the 90 min classes.

I've been taking classes at The Beverly Hills Lingual Institute for many years and still love it! I started out taking Korean which helped me communicate with the people in my job at that time. I then moved on to studying Spanish, French and now Chinese. It's mainly for fun but it is always a bonus to be able to communicate with people in their native language. The teachers are fantastic! They not only teach grammar, vocabulary, reading, and writing but how to interact in real situations. I've been taking classes with some of the same students for many years so it's like getting together with friends. It's great to meet so many different people that have a similar interest yet such vast backrounds. I would recommend this to anyone looking to expand their knowledge and fun.

Since I started classes at BHLI, my Greek speaking, reading and writing skills have vastly improved. Stefania is methodical, reliable and extremely dedicated to teaching Greek. She also creates a strong sense of community among the students. The focus on grammar is particularly helpful to me and classes are often supplemented by news articles, film recommendations and examples from the real world. It's a wonderful investment which has connected me to my family in Greece like never before.

As an adult woman learning a second language later in life, I found the experience with this school to be much less intimidating than I had expected. The staff and owner of this school are phenomenal. Friendly, supportive and very nurturing. The small class sizes are one of many the reasons that make this school so successful in teaching. I have recommended this school to varied types of people and ages. It's a wonderful place learn.
