Code for America @ Big Tent in MTV

In one of the sessions today at the Big Tent Google arranged in MTV, I listened to a discussion between Code for America's Jennifer Pahlka and David Drummond. Among the take-aways on how government culture and coder culture crashes: they had to explain what a beta is. "It is not perfect?". Also, there are city halls where one needs a tie. The most interesting change? That things can be built in a day.

The most thought-provoking part? The notion that coders need to serve, that their knowledge is needed for modern government, because government is the things we do together - and when we do things together today, it is often in, through and with code...

Now, I would like to see this in Sweden...
