Hey! The new movie!

At first glance it looks like simply a display of uniforms used in the Auschwitz concentration camp, which in itself would be something to reflect on. But then it gets even more poignant – the uniforms are arranged to resemble people walking behind a barbed wire, and behind them you can see pictures of the actual victims of the Nazi regime who died in that camp and who were actually wearing these striped clothes.

This cute little yellow train is a piece of equipment working on the site of the Wieliczka salt mine. It’s one of the most fascinating places not only in Poland but in the entire Europe. In this picture we’re still outside and you can see how pretty and well taken care of everything is, but once you enter the actual mine things get even more interesting!

To have a statue made out of stone is already quite an achievement, but to have one sculpted entirely in salt is a whole other level of awesome. This particular salt statue that can be viewed in the Wieliczka salt mine in Poland portrays the famous writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. It’s a really unique way to honor an historical figure.

The salt mine in Wieliczka, Poland is full of wonders, both natural and human-made. Some of them are art just decorating the place, with a bit of a history lesson. This is one of those – a statue of a historical miner who used to work in this very mine, carrying a candle and a rope on which a barrel is dragged. It lets you learn how the work underground used to look before more advanced technology was introduced.

The salt mine in Wieliczka (Poland) is famous for its amazingly unique statues made entirely out of salt. They’re often religious, but this time it’s a historical figure (albeit still a Christian one) – Saint Kinga. She’s surrounded by figures of other people – warriors, knights and perhaps a beggar. All of them and their environment are 100% salt!

What seems like just a group of statues, becomes something truly incredible as soon as you find out how unusual they are. Everything you see in this picture is made entirely out of salt. It’s a religious display, portraying saint Kinga with many men around her (mostly beggars or warriors), but you can definitely be atheist and still admire these sculptures as the work of art they are.
