+Neil Jones One for you?
I know the guy who builds this and have seen (heard?) it in action. It's a truely amazing bit of kit.
Spread the word please, so he gets his goal and we can all enjoy the fun of creating music.

Printed most of the parts for the Spherebot. Hopefully I get it done in time to print a few Christmas balls for the tree.

A couple of years ago I built a totally useless machine. This funny contraption is getting very popular on the net lately, so I took some pictures and post them here. The box is built from 3mm MDF and covered with bamboo. Some bees wax was used for the final touch.
Do notice the hinges. These are made from fishing wire in a figure 8. This technique was used in the 50's in RC modelling for attaching flight control surfaces.
Enjoy.

Here's the power bank I plan to use for the 5V electronics on my roaming robot.
The battery is an 18650 LiIon cell's from an old laptop battery pack.
The module on the right is a 5V boost converter which converts the voltage from the battery to a steady 5V. The connectors on the left give me three 5V and ground lines. #arduino

Work in progress.
The final design will incorporate multiple sensors and be targeted at children. The chassis will be optimized for laser cutting and easy building.

Learning Wordpress programming on Father's day. A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.
It's amazing how many similarities there are with Drupal. Many of the concepts seem to be borrowed from each other.

I built a Voltspie for my girls today at +timelab Gent. We had a lot of fun doing it. This circuit boosts up the voltage of a battery to a pulsed 4V and makes it usable for a high power LED. The LED burns down to a battery voltage of 0.5V
I used a bit of electrical wire and a clothes peg to turn it into a reading light.
