"One of Us", is a detailed story about the Norwegian terror attacks by Anders Behring Breivik, written by Asne Seierstad. I just finished this book. It made a huge impact on me. One Of Us is very relevant at this point in our societies where extreme right winged politicians become increasingly more popular. The book follows not only Breiviks story but also the lives of several victims and their families.

Anders Breivik commited this crime because he wanted to destroy the left wing Norwegian Labour Party and it's youth members, who were camping on Utøya. Breivik holds Labor responsible for "the failure of multicultural Norway" and is very afraid and worried that islam will take over Norwegian politics and society.

Breivik was examened by many psychiatrists and psychologists but each and everyone of them came up was a different diagnosis, like paranoid schizofrenia, personality disorders and autism spectre illnesses. Eventually he was declared sane.

Utøya survivor Viljar Hanssen from Spitsbergen suffered massive scull injuries, he also lost an eye and several fingers by the bullets. The Utøya rescue team believed Viljar had died because his brain had fallen out of his head while still being attached to the spine. Still they took him to the hospital, his heart was faintly beating. It's a miracle he is still alive.
