Congress Clears Transportation Bill With $464 Million for Vermont: 
Congress today passed a transportation funding bill that would provide almost $464 million to Vermont through 2014. Sen. Bernie Sanders, a Senate Transportation Subcommittee member, helped write the bill. "At a time when about one-third of the bridges are structurally deficient or functionally obsolete and 36 percent of the federal-aid roads need major repairs, this bill will go a long way to putting Vermonters to work to address this infrastructure crisis," said Sanders (I-Vt.). In a state where there are more cows than people, a new road between Shaftsbury and Bennington is a clear priority! The folks in VT need infrastructure expansion and rehabilitation as do the other 49 states. Did I mention that this creates jobs?
