Imagine living in North Carolina where 10 MILLION hogs are raised! The hogs produce 40 MILLION GALLONS of untreated MANURE and other waste EACH DAY. Rivers and the land are so polluted, the manure is not stopping there, so much is going to the atmosphere, we are breathing poo, literally. #animalagriculture #hogs #pigs #food #environment #factoryfarms

When Yenal, 12, came to Jordan from Syria she thought she had lost her future. “Today, I can dream again, of becoming an architect one day.”
Za'atari refugee camp is a place that’s become famous in Jordan and abroad. I remember the day it opened, in the summer of 2012, when it was no more than a desolate patch of sand close to the borde...

Upper Antelope Canyon, Page, Arizona

Antelope Canyon is likely one of the most-visited and most-photographed slot canyons in the American Southwest. It is located on Navajo land near Page, Arizona.

It's been a year since we enjoyed this amazing experience with a guide who was himself an accomplished photographer and who shared his great knowledge of how to photograph the many features of the site.

There are so many images to be taken here, but so little time!  Hope you enjoy as much as I do looking back at these images.

Breaking Through The Clouds is a short film about the inspiration of Tokitae (known by most as Lolita), a captive orca held captive for the past 44 years in an illegally sized tank at the Miami Seaquarium, and her story. The film premiered at Phinfest on March 14, 2015.

One quarter-pound hamburger takes 621 gallons of water to produce. That's enough water to take over a month's worth of showers. #WorldWaterDay Protect our #water #environment #animals #planet #GoVegan

Smithfield Foods is the largest pork producer in the world. If you eat pigs, you are supporting this horrible cruelty. #stoptheslaughter #animalcruelty #pigs #factoryfarms #environment

Yahoo News: "Plant-based diets: Some Californians are cutting back on their meat consumption to help alleviate the drought... 'Everything we do at home – from showering to watering plants – is just 5 percent of water consumption, whereas animal agriculture is 55 percent.'” ‪#‎TruthOrDrought‬

The California State Water Resources Control Board is meeting to expand regulations for water conservation during the state’s crisis, as citizens look for ways to preserve the remaining water supplies.

Got #Water ? No We Don't!
California released yesterday another set of regulations for watering lawns, again nothing about the water used for livestock and to grow livestock feed was mentioned. Yet: ● 47% of California's water footprint is associated with meat and dairy products, and only 4% with household use. (Pacific Institute, “California’s Water Footprint”)

Animal Agriculture is a big offender: Livestock and their byproducts account for at least 32,000 million tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) per year, or 51% of all worldwide greenhouse gas emissions.
Goodland, R Anhang, J. “Livestock and Climate Change: What if the key actors in climate change were pigs, chickens and cows?” WorldWatch, November/December 2009. Worldwatch Institute, Washington, DC, USA. Pp. 10–19.
It is as easy as eating a veggie burger instead of a chicken or beef one at lunch, and an Amy's breakfast burrito (the vegan ones) instead of an egg one in the morning... every meal counts. #water #californiadrought #cadrought #drought #environment #animalagriculture
