Organic chicken doesn't mean 'humanely raised' chicken #chickens   #agriculture   #animalcruelty
The USDA’s organic standards don’t prevent animal cruelty—but the agency is finally moving to change that.

California is on an exceptional drought, Almonds are not the problem, animal agriculture is! #SaveWater #GoVegan

A lot of people see almond growers as the culprit in California's drought. But there is one industry that uses a whole lot more water and provides a whole lot less value in return. http://veganstreet.com/dailymeme-4-13-15.html #californiadrought   #wateruse   #almonds   #dairy   #meat

San Diego County is one of the top five egg producing counties in the nation, accommodating about 4 million hens who lay more than 800 million eggs each year. And that takes a LOT of WATER! How does that Tofu scramble sound now? #drought #californiadrought #water #TruthOrDrought #eggs

If you are thinking to eat The HoneyBaked Ham Company or any ham for this #Easter   or any time, consider this:
- 99.8% of the pork in the US comes from a Factory Farm.
- Mother pigs spend over 2 years locked in a gestation crate where they cannot turn around, scratch, or move, immobilized above their own waste.
- Sows in crates suffer chronic frustration, they chew the cages bars and press their water bottles obsessively.
Please do NOT support this cruelty! You surely can eat not dead animals for ‪#Easter #pigs #gestationcrates #pork

#TruthOrDrought Almonds are not the problem in California, the problem is Animal Agriculture: 47% of California’s water supply goes to livestock animals, while only 4% goes to households.
–Pacific Institute, “California’s Water Footprint” #drought #california #cadrought #water #cows #almonds #agriculture
Cattle use a lot more of California's water than almonds.

3.5 million hens have been euthanize already in Iowa on the biggest #birdflu‬  crisis in the US, Scott Pelley says, it doesn't pose a threat for humans, go ahead and eat your chickens and eggs BUT Mexico has already banned all imports of chickens and eggs from the USA... and remember 10 years ago bird flu mutated in Asia and killed hundreds of people, can you please just stop eating the chickens?
http://www.cbsnews.com/videos/bird-flu-spreads-across-u-s-farms/ and story on Mexico banning US #chickens  and #eggs   http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/04/21/us-health-birdflu-usa-mexico-idUSKBN0NC2IN20150421 #disease   #poultry
The bird flu has been detected in 13 states since December. Experts believe the disease is spreading state to state through droppings from migrating flocks. Adriana Diaz reports.

California is suffering an exceptional drought #CaliforniaDrought   It takes less water to produce 1 year's food for a vegan than to produce 1 month's food for a meat-eater #TruthOrDrought #water #SaveWater #GoVegan

'Megadroughts' for decades, NASA warns, if Greenhouse Gas Emissions stay on course. Animal agriculture produces over 51% of all Greenhouse Gas Emissions. Remember the Dust Bowl? It would be worse.
How does that veggie burger sound now?

Did you hear about the midnight rambler
The one that shut the kitchen door
He don't give a hoot of warning
Wrapped up in a black cat cloak
He don't go in the light of the morning
He split the time the cock'rel crows
-- The Rolling Stones, Midnight Rambler
