Interesting approach of press.
Summary: De Correspondent, the Dutch crowdfunding success story, has built a $2-million base of subscribers in just a year — and it has also learned a lot about how being open with readers and seeing them as partners can change the way that journalism works

Brand anything Apple and that's it.
Want to convince people that you’ve smuggled Apple’s top secret smartwatch out of the labs and onto your wrist? You could burn hundreds of man hours..

Si j'ai bien lu, pcq j'ai un peu mieux à faire qu'à regarder des vidéos, le gars n'a rien vendu, juste enregistré des lambdas disant que s'il y avait Apple dessus, ils avaient confiance. Ok, what's new?

A new term in your UX dictionary ? "Affordance"
A smashing explanation here.
An “affordance” is a perceived signal or clue that an object may be used to perform a particular action. A chair sits at around knee height and appears to provide support. It affords sitting. A toothbrush has a handle a little longer than the human palm. It affords gripping.

Interesting alternative concept ... that will require a critical mass to become sustainable. I'm afraid it requires more fear (and thus more abuse ?) to reach this critical mass with a significant part of the population focused on "virtual panem et casual circenses".
Summary: The Respect Network’s creators claim to have found “a scalable business model for privacy on the internet.” You’ll need to pay to get in during the early days, but the concept may actually be sustainable.

About ethics of the machines ...
And who programs the machines ?
To be read by all developers.
Is it worse to be killed by a robot than by a human? Ethics lessons from the drone wars.

...and back to Asimov's laws of robotics, maybe? The worries about robot ethics dates from he early days of robotics.

Regular drinks w/o alcohol and 16 hours food diet before a "serious breakfast" at local time already improves the situation for me.
Next time, I try this method on 4 days.

A quote from this very inspiring HBR blog post explaining quite well the boundaries of this big data hype : "If the world is highly predictable, you have lots of data and only a few parameters to estimate, then do your complex models. But if the world is highly unpredictable and unstable, as in the stock market, you have many parameters to estimate and relatively little data. Then make it simple."

"Big data has a long tradition in astronomy". I like the association.  ^^

Interesting opinions on design ...
As designers, we must understand the role of momentum in effective user interface mobile design and create experiences that keep our users moving forward.

The perceived champions would be data enemy or data skeptic according to actual level performance (respectively bad or good), while the actual champions not perceived as such would be natural supporters of data-driven management. This quadrant clearly outlines a challenge of data-driven management.

Interesting conflict solution method : ask each party to defend the opinion of the other side
