So I dropped my Z3 Compact last week and the rear glass panel cracked. Everything is fully functional but I still wanted to get it repaired. I bought the 2 year Protection Plus plan for $60 when I got the phone, but I figured I'd check on just using the regular warranty first. They wanted me to send in my phone (at my expense), and once they assessed the damage they let me know how much it'd cost to repair. The agent guessed somewhere around $150. Then I'd get the phone back eventually. So it would cost me $150+, plus shipping, plus a couple weeks without my phone to have a $15 part replaced under warranty. That's obviously unacceptable.

If I use the Protection Plus plan, they send me a brand new phone and prepaid return shipping label to send the damaged one back in. Then if I want I can buy a new protection plan on the new phone for $60. It's such a no-brainer to go that route, and I'm very glad I shelled out the extra $60 when I bought the phone.

The Sony reps were all very nice and helpful in explaining everything and taking care of it. Overall I'm still happy to be a Sony customer and I'll probably continue to purchase Sony products.

Also, if you're wondering why I don't just get a panel and replace it myself, I've checked around and it seems you're likely lose the waterproofing when you try to do it yourself. That's why I just want a new one.

+Koushik Dutta Doesn't bother with kayaks. He can hardly be bothered to get up from the lawn chair on the deck of his yacht to shake his BBQ tongs at the rig.

I use Action Launcher. Those three lines means there's a Shutter setup. When I swipe up on the icon it opens the widget that's set up for that app.

I'm hoping I have some answers to this in the morning. Before flashing the Lollipop factory image to my Nexus 4 I did a full Titanium Backup and downloaded it as a zip to my computer. Of course flashing the factory images wipes everything, including internal SD card storage. I thought I could use the zip to restore all my app data, but maybe I don't know how to do this? At first I tried copying it back to the TI folder after flashing and rooting and installing TI, but it doesn't recognize it as a valid backup file. I've tried every option and action I can find in TI to no avail.

I'm a little hesitant to just flash the whole zip in recovery (if that's even how that downloaded zip file works), as I would prefer to do a selective restore rather than every single app that was backed up.

Does anyone know how to do this? I could use some help.

I did try extracting the files related to the app I wanted to restore, but no, I didn't extract the whole thing. It's large, but I guess I'll give it a shot.

+Chris Lacy Seems enough changed on lollipop to break the recents on the slide out panel or whatever you call it. 😀

I imagine that most of what would end up in Recents would already live on the quick access panel anyway, especially with the extra space. Like I said, given my use, I don't count it a great loss. Shame Google broke a feature of your app though.

Love this church. It's helped me so much. Don't know where I'd be without it, but it wouldn't be pretty.
