They said the same thing about pork products and other meat products due to the the harsh summer and the rising cost of feed for these animals. Later it was found that farmers are pretty good at preparing and riding out such harsh stretches. While I'm sure the cost of Milk (as well as most other foods, to be honest) will see a rise in cost, it's not going to be a "soaring" cost as predicted.
Futures for agricultural commodities did go up I heard? It was due to drought though and I believe they said it would have 2013 Q2 consequences for consumer goods
