Really gorgeous historic hotel, with impeccable service and lovely amenities. We arrived on a beautiful afternoon to complimentary tea and scones in the lobby - gorgeous orange scones that were moist and delicious with salted butter, marmalade, and jam. Check-in was a breeze. After enjoying our tea and scones, we were escorted to our room, where complimentary cream sherry awaited us! the room was lovely, with a firm, new mattress and wonderful bed. The furniture and decor were "antique inn" style but tasteful. There was a nice new flatscreen with excellent reception and channel selection, and a nice charging dock that accommodated my blackberry and my husband's iPhone. The bathroom was newly remodeled and we had a very different experience from another reviewer. The plumbing worked beautifully. The mini fridge was stocked with complimentary tea and juice, and the room was HUGE. In the lobby are many games and puzzles to check out, with comfy seating at chess tables and reading tables. There are many nooks and crannies about the hotel and the grounds for sunning oneself, reading, or drinking and chatting together. We also went for a bike ride using the hotel's complimentary bikes and helmets. We learned there was a pool, hot tub, and water park accessible at the golf course, but never had time to use it. Overall a FANTASTIC experience with free wi-fi to boot. The cleanliness was impecccable - way better than the Westin or W hotels I usually stay at, with much better service as well. This hotel is an excellent value and I'd recommend it to anyone. We are in our mid-thirties with no kids. We were probably the youngest people here :) but we had a GREAT time.

I was VERY disapointed with the Hotel, although is is a very lovely for an older historic hotel, it ISN'T WORTH THE COST!!! Had to flush the toilet SEVERAL times just to take care of business, after awhile I was getting frantic! Although the room was nice, our alarm clock didn't work, the room was a little noisy. No TV, which was really okay, we were tired and just wanted to go to bed. Breakfast isn't served till 8:00 a.m. and we needed to leave before then to get to where we were going for the day. We went downstairs for a night cap and I nearly tripped on the stairs going down into the lobby, they just aren't marked very well, the color of the wood just kind of blends in together. The prices were outrageous for a glass of wine! I really don't recomend this hotel. If you're disabled you're out of luck! Stairs everywhere!!! We won't be going back! I wished I would have read these reviews before we went.! They didn't even provide a guest comment card in the room, or I would have left a note to fix they're toilet!!!

This was a quaint little Inn situated in the heart of the redwoods. The food at the Inn was amazing, the facilities were gorgeous and clean, and the rooms were very comfortable.

This place is beautiful wish I could stay here. But I'm afraid to with this guy named Kenny working there.. he tried to force himself on me. And he tried to drug my drink. I'm terrified of this place now. I advise all females to never go here alone. He has shaggy blonde hair and a lip piercing and this place has him as a manager. So who do you complain to ? Can't reach the owner... so I will just leave my complaints all over the internet.. this man is bad news and needs to be locked up

My husband booked a terrace room at the Bewbow Inn as a surprise honeymoon after our June 09 wedding. It was a wonderful fit for two people who weren't excited about a typical beach vacation. The Benbow Inn was gorgeous! It oozed old-world charm with dark wood everywhere, a wood-burning fireplace, board games to play and classic movies to rent, four-poster beds, crème sherry decanters in each room, and tea and scones served every afternoon to guests. One of our favorite things about the Inn was that it was so unique...no identical cookie-cutter atmosphere here (you know...where you know that every Holiday Inn from Maine to California will look exactly like you think it will)! We woke up every morning and ate breakfast on our terrace that overlooked the Eel River in our Inn-provided terrycloth robes. We spent most days out and about (hiking, exploring the Redwoods, visiting nearby towns, biking, etc.), and then returned in the afternoons for tea and scones before dinner and relaxing. They have beautiful gardens to explore and we liked taking off our shoes and wading in the river behind the hotel. They also had bikes guests could rent. We spent our last evening exploring the town of Benbow near sunset. We saw lots of deer and wildlife as we rode around the mountain town. One of our favorite nights was our dinner at the Inn's restaurant. I had trout and my husband had filet. The chef's specialties are his sauces. It's been half a year, but I can still remember the sauce on my husband's filet. Mmm! Our food took a bit of time, but the staff made up for it by sending a complimentary dish of mussels and chorizo in this wonderful tomato-y broth. We will DEFINITELY go back! It will always be a very special place to us.
