i don't want to be rude, on the contrary. But how exactly do you guys pay for this kind of thing? - Do not get me wrong pls, it is outright great that you did all this. Very cool teaser, that is - would love to see more of the places you guys visited. I am also working on a more automated channel etc online - so perhaps you guys could share stuff like this instantly. You are already invited to make a Post in the: China Travel Community on Facebook. Pls find it? - And Tibet Travel Community on Facebook. I will be working on one for Mongolia as well later on (y)

+Nicolás Marino Yes, the video & sound quality on vimeo is a bit better. Perhaps you have to upload your video in a format that youtube recommends.

Now there IS a good question: I might say I have very warm feelings for Communist thought, or at least Socialism, and inprinciple especially the (early) Chinese Revolution. However, i only like it when the people come first and not last. As far as I am concerned the Chinese Revolution has been hijacked and tarnished through and through. As far as I know, by Mao first and foremost. But it is stunning to know that even if Mao got things very very wrong, not a single high ranking Party Member had the honor to simply resign from their posts. That would have been a thing.
I realize that that would have exposed them and their families to persecution by Mao (the Gang of 6) but still. So, my favorite characters are now Marshall Zhu De (who was not a politician like the others) and Marshall Peng Dehuai, who suffered the consequences. - The current party are a bunch of Capitalist roaders who are corrupt through and through. Mao would have had them shot.

I am a friend of North Korea, which is a small country, which like so many other small countries (including my own) has sadly been caught between the big boys, and as far as I am concerned they are still held hostage, not only by American posture, but equally by Russia and China. They are very much like Poland in this respect, in my opinion. I do think they have developed a strange posture, which i do not understand, but ... since no one understands them at this point, i'd hate to blindly condemn them. So, call me a friend of the people, of China and Korea.

Hope this explains some of it. For the rest: i grew up playing on the bunkers that Hitler left on our coast (Atlantik Wall), while frequently our fighters were scrambled against Russian (Soviet USSR at the time) were penetrating our air space as a show of force. Therefor, i do not take anything for granted if it comes from higher up. Maybe i should be regarded a socialist, but i would only sign for that if there is a free press, and a solid check on the bank accounts of the Leaders. Power tends to attract the morally low elements. I do not believe everyone is clean and trustworthy. It is the story of the world, especially of past Dynasties. - Maybe Mister Xi should clean out and make a new Revolution, this time without chaos in China coming down on the normal people.

Now here is something people could learn from - But most will not, even if they are in the position they wouldn't quite realize it ..

Just a fun photo taken by someone else during my latest tour of China in the last months of 2013. Yes, of course as always we had our challenges but overall of course it was a huge blast. The question is as always: when can we take to the road again?

Thanks 4 the invite and I gladly except. Although I have nothing quite ready yet (perfectionist tendency?) I'll gladly present a small demonstration soon.

For now: Have a small sniff http://www.asiareport.com/ChinaReport/Sources/China_Maps/China_Empire_History/Map-Great-Wall-China-Location-Length-Passes.html while I get back to work on that plan.
