So proud of the stream of talent we get through our intern program at +Khan Academy. Check out Elizabeth's kickass work on the recent iPad app redesign, among other things.

There are a lot of cool things about Khan Academy that make me really proud to be a part of the work there. By far one of the biggest impact I've seen the product have is showing students that they're in charge of their learning - intelligence isn't fixed, stumbling is OK, and that with enough work, you can learn anything.

We're starting to share that message more broadly now. Really excited and hope that the message inspires and resonates with people.

Huge news for California ed.

“Substantial evidence presented makes it clear to this court that the challenged statutes disproportionately affect poor and/or minority students,” Judge Rolf M. Treu of Los Angeles Superior Court wrote in the ruling. “The evidence is compelling. Indeed, it shocks the conscience.”
The decision handed teachers’ unions a major defeat in a landmark case to overturn laws governing how teachers are hired and fired and is expected to set off similar fights across the nation.

This is fantastic.
Facial hair is everywhere at the moment.  Take a look around and you will see many a well-groomed Tash and unruly Beard. But did you know that there was such a thing as the National Beard and Mustache Championships?  Yes there is! Earlier this month, the 4th Annual Championship was held in New Orleans and Las Vegas-based […]

"Who do you want to be?"

Photographer Dita Pepe uses photography to imagine herself in different lives. Each really well done and believable.

A vim directory that's not only not-crappy but actually...well...awesome. Super useful and I've already discovered a few useful plugins myself.

Built by some really talented colleagues of mine on their spare time. Lots of nice small touches, like subtle but nice animations in most of the interactions. Built using React on the frontend (which I've been learning, and learning to love as well).
