Makes a change from Hoodening... Eastern European traditions visiting East Kent. Should be a great concert. #HermitageEnsemble #StNicholasAtWade
We're looking forward to a special concert next month - on Tuesday 21 March 2017, St Nicholas-at-Wade church will be hosting some Russian Vocal Virtuosi – the Hermitage Ensemble from St Petersburg, an Orthodox male voice choir comprising some of the top soloists from the city's opera, ballet, theatre and concert groups. The programme will contain a variety of sacred hymns, popular folk songs, and more modern hits.

For more details see our village ‘News’ page at http://bit.ly/StNickNews or the Facebook ‘event’ page at https://www.facebook.com/events/322491044785905/

Just stumbled on a rare Swiss guising tradition with many points in common with Hoodening: „"Spräggele“". Looks like fun. :-)

Rumours that Hoodening and beer go hand in hand are greatly exaggerated. Then again... singing is thirsty work, and one does need liquid refreshment... if it's tasty & cheaper than usual that's also good... so if anyone else is quite picky about their ale (fans of InBev & SABMiller can go elsewhere), use code R663862 below.

Just finished listening to http://bbc.in/1hddqFM, a surreal 3-hour mix of live reporting from #Hiroshima, and... cricket. Only in Britain, only on +BBC 5 live? But the interviews by Peter Allen were excellently done, a wonderful breadth of opinion covered with some very moving insights. As many said, it's so difficult to understand if you've never spent time in Hiroshima.

And no, this does not belittle other heinous acts of terrorism such as 9/11 or 7/7.

If you don't find this graphic (from http://www.telegraph.co.uk/history/world-war-two/11784714/Hiroshima-the-numbers-around-the-day-the-A-Bomb-was-dropped.html) scary, I think there's something wrong with you. #ヒロシマ   #Hiroshima
