Maxxis Rambler 40c tyres mounted tubeless on a Trek Crocket 5 Disc. 3mm clearance from the right side chain stay so might be a little messy in sticky mud.

Also of note are the Ashima 160mm rotors with centrelock adapters.

The CycleEpic is a 90km 1800M race loop around Hidden Vale, Grandchester, QLD based at the Spicers resort. This year it took me 5hrs 55min.

Raced "The Rigid Rig" yesterday in a 3hr and scored 3rd in category (Veterans Men) and 13th overall out of 73 staters.

http://www.webscorer.com/race?raceid=48980

Bike went very well. A little bit of pulsating coming from the front fork under heavy braking which was expected.

Gear ratio of 32/18 suited the course nicely although it only had 80m elevation over each 8.5km lap. A standard XC would have over 130m at least so I think a 32/20 would be a better standard cog.

Latest member of the bike family. Called it The Rigid Rig.

Picked up the frame cheap (like carton of beer cheap). So went about obtaining bits from around the place and came up with this.

For those who know the issues with the sliding dropouts of the Rigs I have swapped out the tensioner bolts with hardened ones and modified the QR skewer so it doesn't hit the frame, allowing the axle to seat correctly. Hope that's enough.

A few of Cisco's 'Fog' networking kit. This gear is supposed to connect all the IoT sensors. Runs IOx - which is a Linux distro running in a virtual machine along side IOS. The intent is to push processing out to the fog layer instead of shovelling gobs of useless data into the cloud. #IoT #Cisco

Racing in the Bayview Blast (Australian National XCM Round 6). Great trails in the Bayview Forest park - can't go past Sorcerer, 1.8km of flow track.

Story
Introduction
I was born in Townsville sometime during the 80's and was quickly whisked away to Tennant Creek to spend my first year of life in a caravan stuck in the middle of Australias' arid centre.

After this short stint in the desert I was moved back to Townsville where I was to spend my life until 1999 when I decided to move down to the Sunshine Coast where I have lived since.

My education consists of 12 years of Primary and High schooling, 3 years of tertiary and another 4 years of apprenticeships.

I have worked since leaving high school with a few breaks for further education and periods of on-the-job training.

I still have close ties with my friends in Townsville while my immediate family resides with me on the Sunshine coast.

That's it, boring bio done.

Excellent trails maintained by the Sunshine Coast Trails Alliance and supported by the Bushrangers MTB Club. Mostly "blue" intermediate grade trails taking you through varied forest/rainforest areas with the 650ha area. Worth the trip.

Booked a car park the day before never having been. The staff were helpful and pointed me in the right direction. Straight forward and simple once I figured out the system.

Stayed here because of the private MTB track which isn't bad - worth doing a few loops to stretch the legs. Facilities are okay, tidy. Location is a bit out of town but not to far to walk/ride.

Your average corner pub. Serves beer and spirits, does all the usual pub things. The food is definitely nothing to write about - you could do better buying stuff from the corner store across the road and making it yourself. Actually I suggest you do that instead, at least you know it's sanitary.
