Another puncture... Maxxis Detonators 700x25c (wire bead) aren't very well suited for the commute given they have no puncture protection. Oddly most of the other sizes/bead types do offer protection.

You can see the bit of glass I plucked out and the hole it made below it right between the middle and side compounds. #maxxis   #puncture   #tyre

Introduction
I was born in Townsville sometime during the 80's and was quickly whisked away to Tennant Creek to spend my first year of life in a caravan stuck in the middle of Australias' arid centre.

After this short stint in the desert I was moved back to Townsville where I was to spend my life until 1999 when I decided to move down to the Sunshine Coast where I have lived since.

My education consists of 12 years of Primary and High schooling, 3 years of tertiary and another 4 years of apprenticeships.

I have worked since leaving high school with a few breaks for further education and periods of on-the-job training.

I still have close ties with my friends in Townsville while my immediate family resides with me on the Sunshine coast.

That's it, boring bio done.

Ben Johns's 17.5 kilometer mountain bike ride
www.strava.com

Ben rode 10.9 miles and climbed 882 feet.

Purchased a fridge from them and had it delivered (for free) and the old fridge taken away. Competitively priced, good service, no problems.

The lower trails are excellent and I enjoyed the climb up 'Calibre' and coming down 'Highlife' to 'Roller Cat'. The upper trails not so good condition when I rode them, very dry and dusty. A bit of tender loving care and rain will bring them back up to greatness I bet. I only rode parts of McKenzie Frenzy (DH track) and it's good from what I can tell. There appears to be b-lines around the nastier bits but I'd still walk it first.

Tidy, quiet, good options (en-suite sites are rad) and close to shops. Staff are very friendly especially the maintenance person.

Great little speedway with a family oriented atmosphere. The track is unique in that it's jelly bean shaped so there's a slight right hander that mixes things up nicely. Although this means that motorbikes are out :( Entry fees are reasonable when you consider the huge amount of insurance these venues have to pay these days.

Excellent network of single tracks with a flow trail and pump track. A little dusty so remember to bring degreaser/lubricant. Corner store and pub both straight across the road.

Nice location that's a good seaside walk's distance from restaurants/cafes in the Bargara township. Staff are friendly and happy to assist. Facilities are slightly dated but more than functional and plenty of. Good choice of sites to pick from. Short term rates are on the expensive side but worth it given a popular seaside location.

This store was great when it opened but has since lost it's lustre and perhaps the motivation to improve or at the very least maintain its quality. This morning's coffee prompted me to write this review - bland and luke warm :( There appeared to be some renovations happening in the store so perhaps that may have prompted the bad coffee. I hope things improve.
