Moving is often listed as one of life’s more stressful times. It can be even more stressful when your move is more complicated than simply transporting some boxes and furniture directly to your new home. For example, what if you need to vacate your old house before you can move into the new one? What if you have cars and equipment that need to be moved in addition to your normal household items?
You Move Me is more than just a moving company that provides pleasant movers and vehicles. We provide a Move Coordinator to help you with all aspects of your move. Because we help people in Portland/Vancouver every day, we have seen just about every situation imaginable. We’re familiar with moving options in the area and can provide context to help you make a decision.
Planning for unusual/unconventional items or situations before moving day allows us to better prepare, and it should help to ease some of your stress. ‘The unknown’ is often the most stressful part of the move. We work with you to identify what that might be. Sometimes our clients are worried about transporting a family heirloom, like an 8-foot-tall vase in one instance. Perhaps a client needs to move a classic car they’re in the process of restoring but it doesn’t run yet. In other instances, a family member moving may be dealing with issues around hoarding and it’s challenging for them to let go.
Most of our clients are dealing with these situations for the first time--that’s what makes them unusual. But for our team, we’ve seen them all many times and have developed best practices to handle them.
If you are concerned about aspects of your move and find yourself staying up at night thinking about them, we’d love to help ease your worrying.
