How to create a brand page
Create a Google+ Page for your business, brand, YouTube channel or organization

You can set up and manage a special kind of account for your business or brand, called a Brand Account. The Brand Account can have both a Google+ Page and a YouTube channel. It can also be managed by multiple Google accounts.

If you have an existing Brand Account (for example created with your business or brand's YouTube channel) you can add a Google+ Page to your Brand Account.

1. Sign in to Google+ as the Owner or Manager of the Brand Account

2. Click your profile image at top right, then select your Brand Account from the menu

3. Once you have switched to your Brand Account, click Enable Google+ on the left menu

4. Read the Pages terms of service, then click Enable again to complete the process

If you do not yet have a Brand account, you can create a new Google+ Page and Brand Account together

1. Sign into Google+ with the Google account you want to Own the Page

2. At the bottom of the left menu, click Google+ for your brand

3. The Google+ creation page ( will open in a new window

4. Click Create Google+ Page

Google+ can still be valuable to businesses, even those you might not expect

Back in June I began an experiment for a client, Boston Rare Maps ( I wanted to see if Google+, specifically Google+ Collections, could generate value for the company. My client's not much into social media, but I said "hey, let's try it, you don't need to be social, just a few times a week post the content from one of your treasures (inventory) with a link to it, and let's see what happens".

You can see the collection here:

In 7 months we've now reached over 25,000 followers of his collection. He still only has 119 followers of his page (which is pretty amusing).

But what's even more important is that, while traffic from Google+ is only 4.5% of his total inbound traffic, it accounts for a full 15% of his goal completions.

Not too shabby IMO.

Stats Come to Profiles and Pages
Well, at least your influence stats.
Insights for everyone

It’s always great to see a positive response to something you’ve posted. But sometimes you want to see what’s happening overall — the big picture.

To help you see how you’re doing, we’re introducing a new profile insights panel in Google+, available whether you post as a person or a page. It’s a private dashboard where you can see the engagement on all your posts, and on reshares of your posts, as well as follows on your profile and Collections.

To find your dashboard, visit your profile on the web version of Google+ ( and open the three dots menu at the top.

Some of you might rightly recognize that items on this list were present in Google+ Classic but were added to the new Web preview over the past fourteen months. Why? We completely re-wrote the Google+ Web app from scratch. Rather than rebuild every nook and cranny that developed over the five year history of Google+, we started with a clean slate of the features people used the most (based on our data & research). We then released this preview version to collect feedback and find out what people missed the most of what we left out.

Not every feature/setting has returned but we have been continuously listening and making updates (as seen above). And we’ll continue doing so. To make your voice heard, please send us your ideas/issues using the Send Feedback menu item. Thanks~
