I wanted to do a quick search for the new Microsoft Surface Pro 4 during its launch event on Tuesday, just out of curiosity. Just minutes later and Microsoft launched the Surface Book. Amazing devices, but tricky when it comes to social listening: it's all good when searching for "surface book", but do a search for the "surface" and you'll get mentions of the Surface Pro and
the Surface Book.
Anyway, if you've ever had to do social listening for two products with really similar names, or where one is just a variant of the other, here's how you can do it without pulling in any unnecessary mentions, and without pulling out your hair (guaranteed).
PS. This is yet another example why you need to have a social listening tool with advanced operators, +Brandwatch
being a prime example.
