The Emerson
2,206 to 3,468 square feet
The Emerson townhome is our most unique, dynamic and flexible model. It is the only model to include a terrace on the second story, which provides spectacular views of the Central Garden and extends your entertaining space off the already spacious Great Room area. In addition, it provides a large covered ground floor courtyard/patio, offering an additional space for entertaining, private contemplation, and a great hot tub location.

The second story is the main living area, there is an optional third floor, and there are four distinct ground-floor options, including a fully “Self Contained Living Suite” where an elderly parent, an adult child, one of the owners or a guest could live long term in what is essentially a separate home within a home.

Main (2nd) Floor

Kitchen: Our spacious kitchen allows for traditional fixtures and quality appliances, or upgrades to separate high-end appliances and other features that provide a true gourmet kitchen. The kitchen can be outfitted with a built-in wine cooler, warming oven, and other specialty appliances.

Great Room: The Great Room is a very large open space flooded with natural light from a wall of glass facing the Central Garden. If you select a three-story Emersion model, the Great Room opens to the third floor, providing a dramatic two-story wall of glass. The Great Room and kitchen combine for almost 900 square feet of open space – perfect for entertaining. The nook provides a cozy alternative to the spacious Great Room.
The Terrace: This spectacular feature opens directly into the main living area, creating a true integration of indoor and outdoor living. Combined with the Great Room & kitchen, it provides over 1,200 square feet of space on the main floor for entertaining, accommodating large groups as well as intimate gatherings. An important feature of the terrace design is the privacy from neighboring homes.

Year-round barbequing is possible using the covered section of the terrace, located immediately off the kitchen. With protection from the wind and optional radiant heaters above the terrace, meals can be eaten outdoors for an extended portion of the year.

Views of the Central Garden are provided from the terrace and the expansive walls of glass facing the Garden. All Emerson townhomes will be filled with natural light from three walls of windows (end units will have four walls of windows). The interior section of the Terrace extends nearly 20 feet back into the townhome along the side by the kitchen, providing a private outdoor space, a very desirable feature not usually available in townhouses or condos.

The Terrace contains generous room for outdoor container gardening, if desired, allowing the owners to enjoy homegrown herbs, vegetables, fruits and/or flowers. To minimize the time required for gardening, each terrace will include connections for automatic irrigation of the containers.

The Terrace can include an option for structural design to support a hot tub for those who want their view of the Garden to be from hot steaming water. A hot tub can be pulled back into the private terrace area or placed on the garden-side edge.

Third Floor Option

If you select a three-story Emerson townhome, the third floor provides either one or two additional bedrooms, along with a spacious bathroom, additional storage, and a den/loft that opens dramatically to the second floor below.

Ground Floor
While the layout of the main (2nd) floor of the Emerson is standard, we offer four different Ground Floor configurations to best meet your needs. All four ground floor options offer:

Media wall with optional gas fireplace
Covered Courtyard Patio that opens into the Central Garden. Ideal spot for a hot tub. In most configurations, the patio is set back into the townhome about nine feet to provide visual privacy from the neighbors.
Kitchen Choices:
No kitchen
Wet bar/kitchenette
Full "lineal" kitchen along the wall
Full kitchen in the nook.

Garden Nook: This cozy nook, about 9 X 9 feet, provides a private space for reading, conversation, or a corner desk unit, With its stunning views of the Central Garden, the nook offers a truly relaxing private getaway
While the common amenities listed above apply to all of our four ground level floor plans, each overall floor plan is laid out differently as described below:

1. Multi Function Flex Space: This is the "basic" floor plan for the ground level. It includes full bath, optional washer/dryer hookup, large open area with space for whatever you decide -- media room, entertaining, man cave, bed or sleeper couch, other.

2. Guest Suite: This floor plan adds a large walk-in closet to enhance the functionality of the space if it is serving as a guest room, or to simply add additional storage space. Full bath, walk-in closet, space for bed or sleeper couch, optional washer/dryer hookup, large open area for whatever you decide -- media room, entertaining, man cave, sleeper couch, other.

3. Self-Contained Living Suite: This option adds a private bedroom that could also be used as an office, art studio, craft room, etc. when the ground floor level is not being used as a separate residence within the home. With this option, the Emerson provides two homes in one and the ability to live without steps and stairs should that become necessary. Private bedroom, full bath, walk-in closet, living room area with nook space. Option for washer/dryer hookup.

4. 3-Car Garage/ Storage Option: This option provides space for a third car, golf cart, small boat, or simply a huge amount of storage space. Space remains for a full bathroom, a full or partial kitchen and a rec/family room. (Lineal kitchen not available with the 3-Car Garage floor plan.)

The Walden
1,479 to 2,357 square feet
The Walden provides full ground-floor living, with no stairs in the main living area or in any of the entrances. There is a single-floor Walden, as well as the option for a one or two bedroom second story.

In addition to daylight from the wall of windows facing the garden, natural light floods the interior from the entry side of the Walden, as well as from optional skylights. Several options let you choose the look and function of the private courtyard/patio area which opens to the Central Garden. It can be entirely hardscape, a private gardening space, or whatever mix of the two you desire. There are options for a hot tub, for an extensive container garden with automated irrigation, and for extending the patio cover to the full width of the unit. In addition, you can choose from several options to create a privacy buffer between you and your neighbors’ courtyards.

The garage provides significant storage on one full sidewall and the front wall.

The Single Story Walden is a modest, yet highly efficient and functional 1,479 or 1,514 square feet. Natural light floods the living spaces from the entry side and the long full wall of windows facing the Central Garden. The public spaces – the kitchen, great room, and dining room -- are more than 500 square feet of what can be used as a single spacious entertaining space. The den provides a private getaway with plenty of natural light through the glass French door and a wall of high (transom) windows. A second full bathroom accommodates visitors or overnight guests. In a slightly larger version, the den is replaced by a bedroom, for two full bedrooms on the ground floor.
The Two-Story Walden offers either a partial 578-square-foot bedroom loft with a full bathroom, or an 878-square-foot version with one or two bedrooms, a full bath, and significant storage space. With the Two-Story Walden, the ground floor Great Room opens to a dramatic two-story space with two full floors of glass opening to the garden. On the main floor, a stairway to the second floor replaces the den and one of the main floor bathrooms becomes a powder room. This model also offers additional storage on the main floor.

The Thoreau
1,165 to 1,240 square feet
The Thoreau is our "cottage" townhome. It is a single story and scaled smaller than our other models, in the spirit of the writings of Henry David Thoreau.

The Thoreau deftly demonstrates that a smaller living space can be refined, comfortable and highly functional. This home is elegant and generous in its simplicity. Inspired design concentrates the private functions into highly efficient spaces; yet the Great Room area provides from 435 to 490 square feet (depending on the options chosen) in a spacious, open area filled with natural light from two full walls of windows. Optional skylights bring daylight into interior spaces as well.

The Master Suite opens to a private courtyard/patio and the Central Garden beyond – a perfect space for entertaining or quietly reading a book. The patio/courtyard can be entirely hardscape, your own private gardening space, or whatever mix of the two you desire, and as an option can be extended to cover the full width of the townhome.

The Thoreau provides full ground floor living, with no stairs or steps. There is significant storage on one full sidewall and the front wall of the garage.

For those seeking to downsize or simplify, the Thoreau offers the best of this concept in a very special setting.
