The analogue telie signal was switched off to Perth sending this particular The City of Lights back into eternal isolation. One year ago. Yesterday I thought it was probably time to send a Korean in a beekeepers outfit up onto the roof to reconnect…

Interesting (or obvious) demonstration of thoughts and actions.

It looks offensive at first glance but it's actually sending a VERY important message across. Please watch.

It's PROSH today where the students dress up in silly costumes and sell a hopefully humorous newspaper to raise funds for some charities.

These two guys started early : )

It's roughly 20 years today that I stopped reading The West Australian and (the Perth) Sunday Times newspapers. Working in the Perth office of Oxfam, hearing from our field officers what was going on Rwanda, and not reading about it in the Perth newspapers changed my world completely. The media was a lie. Is a lie.

It's good to hear some positive stories to come out of this particular genocide. And that some of the resulting kids are doing okay.

It's disappointing, but not unexpected, that I'm not reading it in the West Australian or the Sunday Times.

Twenty years ago, nearly 1 million Rwandans were slaughtered in 100 days of frenzied sectarian violence. As the country prepares to mark the anniversary of the genocide, Alexandra Topping meets six young people who, though born from rape, retain an optimism that offers hope of a brighter future. I'm not sure why yellow submarines have been stalking me this week but there they are - again, and again.

As it's Friday, this seems to be the most appropriate way to start the weekend :  )

"Invest in Australia PM to tell China". Yes give us all your money but don't come and live here, especially not via boat. Asians don't assimilate and we don't want you here. Yes please take all our precious back to your slanty eyed country. We will be your slave, your servant, your willing bum chum, as long as you live over there because Asians don't assimilate.

Pfft!

Locked myself outside of the house. Why yes my daughter does have a set of keys but she's on school camp.

Waiting for the locksmith. La la la la, congrats to the Greens. How about the footy then? Do you reckon the pinging is from the black box?

The Labor handing-out-cards guy was wearing a shirt that listed all the previous Labor prime ministers in Australian history. An old gentleman approached the Labor guy and mentioned how, when he was a child, he met Ben Chifley, and continued to discuss how politics used to be. How parties would cooperate and cross sides to vote for necessary changes to improve Australia. He lamented how sad this is that it doesn't happen any more.

I agree.
