Looking at our hectic schedule for tomorrow, we decided to release the AUGUST 2017 BREWERY SPOTLIGHT on Unibroue a day early.

We always have a fantastic time writing about their world-class ales; and this time was no exception!

By very special arrangement, we bring you our third installment in our new BrewView series called “BREWERY SPOTLIGHT”! For June 2017, our spotlight is on Siphon Brewing from Damme, Belgium.

Siphon is part of a collection of new brewers in Belgium who are taking time-honored Belgian brewing traditions, and using other outside brewing influences (English, German) and putting their own spin on classic styles...

Now this is a treat for us! About 2 weeks ago, our good friend Stu Stuart of Belgian Beer Me! Beer Tours of Belgium informed us that a care package was on its way to us. He said, “I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but the beers I am sending you are very special.”

NEW BREWERY SPOTLIGHT: SINT-BENEDICTUSABDIJ DE ACHELSE KLUIS – ACHEL, BELGIUM

This was a 16-year reunion of sorts for us. The season of Lent 2017 called for Trappist ales we had not enjoyed in a long time! Thanks to our friends at Belgian-Style Ales, we had the opportunity to do so!

My conversation back in October 2016 with Will Keller, owner of BelgianStyleAles.com resulted with him asking if I wanted to BrewView one of their newest additions (at the time) to their retail line up. “Wittekerke Wild is an excellent beer, and I know you would enjoy it.”

Certainly not brand new to the Belgian beer world (but new to us) we are BrewViewing the first beer from Vliegende Paard Brouwers and their PRÉARIS QUADRUPEL. Former homebrewer Andy Dewilde has made a huge statement in just over 5 years in the Belgian beer scene and in the beer industry, overall.
