It is likely that you’ve heard (probably many times) that the bull-market is old – one of the oldest in history. 1st, bull markets don’t die of old age and 2nd, this one has been hampered by over-regulation and anti-business sentiment for much of its life.

The U.S. Department of Labor announced a jobs report today that was viewed by investors as “just right”. Non-farm payrolls jumped 313,000 last month, the largest increase in 18 months. “This report was just about as good as it gets” said Dr. Lewis Spellman, Macro-economist for Beck Capital Management. “Analysts have been concerned that a tighter jobs market would produce significant upward pressure on wages, which can sometimes lead to inflation. The 500 page tax reform act just signed by President Trump has many Americans asking questions. This Bloomberg article covers several important points to think about. We encourage our clients to consider paying state property tax that is due next year this December, thereby taking advantage of full deductibility of the amount paid. In 2018 the State and local income & property tax deduction will be limited to a combined $10,000. According to Boston Consulting Group’s annual survey, investors are now the most bearish they have been since the financial crisis of 2008 – 2009. Typically, high levels of bearishness or bullishness is a contrary indicator of future market direction. In this Wall Street Journal article, nearly 7 of 10 investors say stocks are over-valued.
