Rays Day will take place next Tuesday, May 17th. Any BES athletes for this school year may wear their jerseys and uniform bottoms that day. Mrs. Novak will organize a photo op with all of our athletes, and the Athletic Banquet will take place that night at 6 p.m. in the Parish Hall. We thank all of our student athletes who participated this year and for the tremendous support from their families in taking them to practices and games. Go Rays!

Read this amazing article from the Florida Times-Union from this past weekend about how our IDEAStudio educator, Ms. Betsy Bailey, is helping our students and their peers around the state learn about our state's ecosystem through the lens of sand. We congratulate Betsy on receiving a grant from the Florida Council of Independent Schools for her Florida Sands Project and look forward to seeing the results of her research in the fall when she presents at the FCIS Convention in Miami!

Baby chicks hatched on Mother's Day in Ms. Benkert's first grade classroom! These third generation chicks came from the Lewis' family farm. They are a mix of Delawares, Black Copper Marans, and Americanas varieties. Our students had the eggs for 21 days, and they have been learning about animals, life cycles, and habitats. Ms. Benkert will keep the chicks in the classroom until Tuesday, and then they will go home to live on the Lewis' property.

We are thrilled to announce that Parker, one of our amazing fifth grade students, is the Head of School for today. Her family won this opportunity at this year's "Bids and Bites" Parent Social. She is extremely excited to be able to help students, faculty, and staff make BES the best it can be! Parker will be spending time with her committee to make important decisions for the school and will be eating lunch with Martha Milton. Happy Friday, everyone!
