My boyfriend and I took our first little get away together. I let him book it because I'm not normally picky. Come to find out I will be extremely picky next time. The room was a small out dated style with no microwave or fridge, which to our knowledge it was suppose to have. The air conditioner was so noisy it was hard to sleep. The walls are paper thin so you heard everything (and I do mean everything)! The first day we opted not to have the maids clean, however when they did the only thing that was done was new towels brought in and trash taken out. We accidentally spilled something on the sheets and had to sleep on them for another 2 nights because they were never changed. The floor was never vacuumed from the sand which followed us in from the beach. There was never any new shampoos or soaps put in the room, even though the ones that were there were used. This was to be a relaxing weekend and it was nothing of the sort. For how much we paid it should have been much better service!

Nice location on the boardwalk. Clean rooms. The only downfall is the thin walls. I could hear everything happening in the room above me. Everything...

I went here for years always had the same room in the efficiencies right off the boardwalk and not too far from the inlet. But far enough to stay away from all the craziness the only downside is the facilities are slightly outdated. But that's also a plus side of its charm

This hotel gives a very misleading feel when you walk into the lobby. The visual puts you in the mind of vintage art deco. This is until you go upstairs and enter the room. You are quickly drawn back to the old, dirty, outdated feeling that you receive from the outside of the hotel. The staff was friendly but very nonchalant. Be very specific when making reservations, as the rooms do not come with refrigerators or microwaves. There is a microwave in the hotel, but they will not let you use it and will tell you that there is no microwave in the whole building (EXACTLY). They do have an additional building that is more apartment styled however, this is more shabby than the hotel itself and is the size of a bedroom closet. Upon entering my room, it became quite obvious that housekeeping is the least efficient department in the Plaza. The sheets and pillows had stains on them. There was no iron in the room. There were sunglasses behind the chair from a previous guest. The windows were filthy, the bathroom was filthy, to the point where I had to clean it myself. In addition, the room doors are NOT computerized. They are old-school doors with locks and keys. The only thing that does come standard, is the fact that this hotel has an ice machine (LOL). The twist to that is, the ice machine is just as old and crummy as the rest of the hotel, in a dirty room, with openings in the wall that expose electrical wires. For someone visiting Ocean City for the 1st time, let me be the first to warn you: DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL: This was a learning experience but I know now where I need to be when I return next year. I HOPE THIS REVIEW SAVES SOMEONE SOME MONEY.
