There will always be an infinity of things to do. We can never get our life or our business or our kitchen running exactly the way we want it to run. No matter how we envision it, it can't be that way. Life is not predetermined to the point that we can get to some stage and then see how it all works. What happens is that we have a better and better understanding of things, we have more and more clarity and ability to deal with things as they arise. But they keep arising, endlessly. The empty sky is always creating new clouds. The pot is always boiling.
KŌSHŌ UCHIYAMA

Indeed, new clouds appear and the pot is always boiling.
Do we enjoy the beauty?
Are we watching it or are we the pot?

Do we allow the unfolding of things as they arise or do we become frustrated because life isn't like we think it should be? As difficult as it may be, clarity comes when we detach and observe. Life coaching is assists greatly.

So many people have blessed my life this past year. I am grateful beyond measure. May this next year bring all of us renewed hope and clarity for our choices and interactions with Mother and each other. We're one day closer to harmony among people and planet.

Outside mind, there is no Buddha,
Outside Buddha, there is no mind.
MA-TSU

from elsewhere... Accepting both Jesus and Buddha as enlightened beings is taken to be nonjudgmental, inclusive, and affirming of both Christians and Buddhists. Why bother considering one teacher above the other — especially in our contemporary pluralistic culture?

How should Christians, who worship Jesus alone, respond to this pervasive notion that Jesus and Buddha were great spiritual masters on the same plane?

Your sadness, your fear, your loneliness, even your despair is so fragile, friend. It can break open at any moment. A single note in a piece of music can do it. A kind glance from a stranger. The feeling of the spring breeze on your face. A reflection of a bird in flight. In any moment, your sorrow can shatter into nothingness; it has no more reality than that, no more substance than a shadow.
JEFF FOSTER

In this life and on this path there are very few who have stuck around for long for me. Perhaps it's residuals of the old 'I've got a lot to offer but you are going to reject me' scenario (orphaned at birth) that was buried so deep I didn't find it until my mid-40s. Perhaps it was staying in a relationship because of a commitment, regardless of the betrayal and violation of faith, love and trust in another.

Perhaps it goes back to being offered an experience of a lifetime as a teenager, being diagnosed as a manic depressive paranoid schizophrenic and my quest for fulfilling what no doubt seems insane to many... facilitating a new world order - one of harmony among people and planet.

I know I'm a pretty intense guy when it comes to BEing, having conversations that matter and taking a seemingly minor occurrence and weaving a story of galactic significance. Those dots are easy for me to connect, yet articulating a story that engages others in appropriate and prudent ways often leaves me at a distance. I'm really glad I can be comfortably alone in a crowd, even though my heart is constantly breaking.

I had a friend seeking my help ask just yesterday what I do to remain so authentic and upbeat. I've had my share of sadness and sorrow, yet for some reason I was always able to ascend from it with gratitude. I explained the foundation of my life is just that - an attitude of gratitude for everything. The smile that is nearly always present engages others, even that glance from strangers that suddenly smile at first contact with my eyes.

The bird in flight showed up at that same instant, a red-tailed hawk with outstretched wings, soaring on the wind currents maybe 50 feet above our backyard, spiraling upward in smaller and smaller circles a couple of hundred feet up without one flap of its wings. The conversation marker was exquisite.

Only a few days ago at an outdoor concert I attended with another soul mate (I have many) in Florida, a tribute to Journey with a rock band and orchestra, those first notes affected me and I wept as I sang along, feeling the release of layers of sadness, not caring so much about the tears streaming down my faces and feeling the connection with the music, my personal history and freedom.

It is the latter that leads to fulfillment, no matter the path and/or absence of partnerships along the way. I AM... and the rest is optional in the dance, a seer's vision bridging inner and outer worlds.

Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let pain make you hate. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness. Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still find it to be a beautiful place.
IAIN THOMAS

Be gentle. Be kind. Embrace the world as it is thusly and the beautiful place will emerge with amazing imagery, I've found. Zendor the Barbarian is about that journey for me in a three-part series so far. It gets better every day. http://goo.gl/L1M65y

This being human is a guest house. Every morning is a new arrival. A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor. Welcome and entertain them all! . . . treat each guest honorably. The dark thought, the shame, the malice, meet them at the door laughing, and invite them in. Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.
RUMI

It is common to hear the phrase 'be still' in meditation practices. There is often confusion as to what that really means and little discussion about it, probably because of potential embarrassment for appearing uninformed. The mind is always active, considering this or that, so the important piece is to just 'be still' and watch it in action rather than fighting it. Invite the guests in rather than deny them. They will return again until you do. Gives new meaning to polyphrenia... the committee is in session. Sit and have tea.

If you see yourself in the correct way, you are all as much extraordinary phenomena of nature as trees, clouds, the patterns in running water, the flickering of fire, the arrangement of the stars, and the form of a galaxy. You are all just like that, and there is nothing wrong with you at all.
ALAN WATTS

See yourself... the key to the universe is in your eyes.

. . . and he was almighty because he had wrenched from chaos the secret of its nothingness.
WILLIAM SOMERSET MAUGHAM

When we become still, the serenity reveals that, indeed, chaos has a secret. It beckons us to understand our creation of it, which often invites us to realize it is our creation... and it is time to let go. It doesn't necessarily eliminate it immediately, though it does offer an evo-leap in our inner behavior as we continue.
