New Product: Micro Gearmotor with Threaded Shaft
Description This gearmotor is very unique – instead of a standard output shaft, this motor features a 55mm M4 threaded shaft. The output shaft is driven by a standard N20 motor and gearbox combination which reduces the output shaft speed to just 400 RPM at 12V. The reduced output shaft speed is easy to manage and works quite well as a miniature lead screw setup.[...]

Description Many model builders and hobbyists often wish if there were a smaller LED they could wire into their models for lighting effects. In the past, there were very few options for small lights, incandescent would get hot and burn out quite quickly and LEDs were large only available in limited colors.[...]

We now have 8mm Lead Screws in stock! 500mm in length - additional sizes to come!
Description Lead screws (also known as power screws) are used as a way to convert a rotational movement from something like a DC Motor or Stepper Motor to linear movement. This method of positioning is found in everything from DVD drives and CNC machines to simple automotive screw jacks. The lead screw is paired with a machined nut – as the screw is turned each direction the nut will slide up and down the lead screw.[...]

I have used these guys a few times, once for an order of more than 30 kits. It is great to have a source of some basic fun things right in town. I have found the owner, and the woman who I assume is the receptionist, to always be helpful and friendly. It may be that the receptionist is not the most electrically knowledgeable person but who cares? She was helpful efficient whenever she served me. In response to "Sam Steel", robotics includes everything from a little gadgets you make with your kids to a multi-million dollar line in a factory. I have direct experience building both and think good for them to have scooped the name "BC Robotics". Last I checked there is no company name police! They have never come across as trying to be "The Robotics company of BC" to me at all. My personal opinion is if you don't like them then don't use them but why make such nasty comments about their employees? It reflects poorly on your character. I am dead happy with them and will continue to use them for what they are, a friendly, slightly more expensive but local company where I can get stuff I would otherwise have to wait days for to be shipped to me.

The guys running this shop know what they are doing. My son was stoked to see that they had all of the equipment for him to starting inventing in robotics. Incredibly helpful staff. Thanks Chris.

Why is this tiny hole in the wall named "BC Robotics"? This business represents all of BC's robotics capabilities??? Really? Who approved this business name? The clueless secretary answers the phone and consistently makes a fool of herself answering technical questions she has no business answering as she barely understands the difference between ac and dc current. Meanwhile the owner, who appears to be dating her, runs to her rescue whenever someone points out her stupidity. Truly, this place and it's owner/employees are an embarrassment to all of us in the robotics and electronics industry. Get rid of the incompetent wannabe electrical engineer secretary you're dating and hire someone that knows what they are talking about, and stop defending incompetence. You are making all of us look bad and our community is laughing at you.
