To help facilitate My Neighborhood Storage Center's philanthropic endeavors, they will be registering with the storage industries most popular fundraising program Charity Storage. Charity Storage utilizes existing storage facility operations, namely storage units and auctions, to raise money to benefit the community. Participating storage operators dedicate a storage unit from inventory as a collection point for donated goods. Departing tenants, current tenants, auction buyers, and local residents and businesses can donate items to the Charity Storage Unit and receive a tax deductible receipt. When the storage facility holds a public auction the Charity Storage Unit is sold and the revenue allocated to local and national charities.

Sixty percent of all net proceeds will be donated to BASE Camp; while 30% goes to Kure It Cancer Research and the remaining 10% will benefit the Self-Storage Association Foundation. Adam Mikkelson Vice President of Liberty Investment Properties, Inc. which manages the My Neighborhood Storage Center brand is happy to be a part of such a great cause. "At our core we desire to be 'more than just storage' and continually look for opportunities to give back to the communities we serve" says Mikkelson. "My Neighborhood Storage Center is excited to partner with BASE Camp Children's Cancer Foundation for a great cause and we see this event as a way to involve the greater community in a positive way."
