While most chasers were on the Canadian storm getting great video of the tornadoes on 5/27/2015, Aimee and I were on the other storm near Wayside. This thing spun like crazy, producing numerous funnels and tons of lightning. However, it did not produce any visible tornadoes. This is a compilation of many time-lapses as over 12 inches of rain fell on Wayside. We were never more than 10 miles from Wayside the entire chase. Taken with a GoPro 4.

Here's some screen shots from video I shot today documenting the flooding at the park. The water was only one foot below the bridge at water crossing #6. Tomorrow I'll have the full flight video uploaded.

Hunsley Hills, Canyon TX. Any more rain today could be trouble.

They call it Red River for a reason. Normally this river is a trickle, but the panhandle region has received above normal rainfall. Taken with an Inspire 1 on 5-9-2015

Juleah and I ended up going out storm chasing today just in case any happened. Just east of Amarillo we setup the tripod and ended up getting a great view of the severe storm on the east side of Amarillo.

We had some serious flooding rains along the Prairie Dog Town Fork Red River today (5/23/2015) in and upstream of Palo Duro Canyon State Park. In cooperation with the State Park Police, I took a quick flight up and down the park to evaluate the flooding. I've included the entire flight with some time warping to condense the length.

In stead of storm chasing, we went flood chasing. A new hobby in the Texas Panhandle.

Here's the video from the chase Saturday with Juleah. We actually went out without high hopes because of the wide spread morning convection. Our primary intention was getting photos/video of the high waters around the area, including the Prairie Dog Fork Red River at some of the bridges in the south panhandle. If storms ended up firing, we would be in a good position to chase. We started out going down Wayside HW where I flew my Inspire down the road a bit to get an overhead view of the flooding on the plains on top of the caprock. All of the playa lakes in that area were dry the day before, now they're full. We also observed the towering Q getting sheared just off the caprock which you can see in the first part of this video. We then stopped at the bridge at 207 and got the video that I've previously posted. On our way down to the bridge south of Clarendon, one of the towers overcame the shear somewhat and we started our chase. The storm had nice structure and the shear was very strong. This storm took on the classic low level structure we see in tornadic supercells, but it just couldn't overcome the incredible shear. We followed it all the way into OK where we saw Chuck under the wall cloud. We almost gave up on it before deciding to follow until sunset. As we pulled into Elk City we noticed it finally put down a nice beefy funnel. Blasting north, we got setup to see a nice laminar funnel that briefly touched the ground. It was a nice chase because it was a nice storm, the chase horde was spread out in other target areas, and we got to see old friends. It reminded me of chasing in the early 90's before the twister crowd showed up.

Aimee and I didn't see any tornadoes today, but we did see this this. It was a dying storm which under the right conditions can be visually cool.

Finally! I've been waiting to see some of your Inspire work. Very nice. I would like to have seen this in 4K though. YouTube does support it - hint, hint, hint.
