The wonder of technology
“I wonder that we can put together circuits and mechanical linkages—in the end, pieces of silicon and copper wiring, strips of metal and small gears—so that machinery moves in response to thought and to thought alone” (Arthur 2011, pp. 1-2). Arthur, W.B., 2...

Ethics, Morals, and Technology
I've been thinking for quite awhile about ethics, morals, and technology. It's a complex and difficult set of topics. While actor-network theory has made great strides in bringing a research focus to the oft-overlooked non-human aspect of practice, it has r...

Matter as Teaching Device
“[T]he agency of matter [is] pedagogical in its resistance. Matter teaches us through resisting dominant discourses, showing us new ways of being. Bodies resist dominant modes of positioning, political acts defy government rule, sexuality exceeds legal — re...

Agile means rethinking practice
It’s refreshing to see a newly minted McKinsey article  (Comella-Dorda et al. 2016) suggesting that deploying agile development on a broad scale requires a rethinking of “foundational processes, structures, and relationships”. In other words, McKinsey are n...

The Commercialisation of Human-Centred Design
Human-Centred Design finds its roots in Scandinavian
research on democratic industrialisation (Emery &

Algorithms, Data, and Culture
In a recent Atlantic article, Ian Bogost  provocatively argues that the popular meme of “algorithmic culture” refers not to a material configuration where algorithms are central to culture but rather to a mode of experiencing the modern world analogous to r...

Introduction
I am a Doctoral candidate in the Information Systems and Management group at the Warwick Business School at the University of Warwick. My research interests lie in relationships that form between people and computational objects in organisational settings and the way these impact identity, leadership, and organisation. In particular, I am interested in the interplay between leadership practices and performance as mediated through technology.
