Olympus coming out to let you demo some cameras this Thursday! Come get some awesome pizza and unique brews at Austin Beer Garden Brewing.
Is time again to have our good friends at +Olympus back in Austin, Texas. They are bringing their most recent equipment available for us to test. If you are an enthusiast of mirror less cameras you need to attend this event. They promise this is going to be an event to remember.

Our good friends at ABGB Austin Beer Garden Brewing will have an area reserved for us. Get there on time to check your loaner camera out and give it a good try.

Rumors I hear is that we are one of the few people to test some of their newest gear outside a store.

Bring your friends over to network with an awesome group of Photographers in the Austin, Texas area. We geek out about Photography and techniques and have fun having a few drinks.
You don't need to have a fancy camera. Bring your cell phone or older point and shoot. We are not Photography snobs.

You don't have to drink alcohol either. Many of our members do not drink and they still come over for a good talk and networking.

You need some Drink and Click™ gear? Come visit

Hopefully this kid will need a new mailbox before Christmas
Ok plus I need your help.
I have a kid that has asked for nothing but Christmas cards for Christmas. This can be mail art as well. He has placed a world map on his wall and plans to place a marker on each spot he has received mail from and I would like to help him. If you can send a card or piece of mail art I would appreciate it. You are also more than welcome to share this.
Please send cards to

Using Google+ for my first social media page. Have to get the Google search for "Barry Stewart Austin" to not show someone else as the first hit.

I love Conan's pizza! This is one of the few places you can get an awesomely crisp salad with real ranch or bleu cheese dressing and with shredded mozzarella piled on top. There's always a great variety of deep dish slices to choose from at lunch. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. Their high-back booths are great for a person eating by themselves to be uninterrupted. They also have large tables and separate rooms to cater to any sized group. Get the perfect mix of grunge in a welcoming and friendly pizza joint! The thin cheese bread with a side of ranch will change your life!

I love that Black's opened an Austin location! I have come here dozens of times now since it's close to my work. The customer service and consistency of the bbq is always great. Getting a full sozed, high quality bbq lunch for around $10 can't be beat. Go with the turkey sandwich if you're not quite in the mood for a heavy smoked meat. It's juicy and flavorful. The communal picnic style tables give this place an authentic country feel that is ready for any group size or going solo.

The front end people were very informative and nice. For the price, this is a good location for getting to the downtown area and medical district. Parking in their garage was $19 for the day and let you come and go as you wish. There's an indoor pool, bar/restaurant, and mini shop open all night for small snacks. The room was comfortable and clean. Soft bed, quiet hallways, no odd smells. I recommend dropping off heavy bags by the main entrance because it's a good walk from the garage, taking an elevator to the lobby floor, and walking through the building to a second set of elevators near the entrance. Overall it was another great stay at a Marriott and I'd easily come back.

Hotel San José is in the perfect location for walking to shops and eateries while being a pedicab ride away from downtown Austin. The interior is modern and relaxing that gives a perfect feel for escaping the city life. All of the staff is helpful and tried to make my experience better. Even the other guest seem to be a chill crowd that was friendly but not invasive. The pool is great for soaking and lounging with a drink but not large enough for play (a bonus for me). If you want a feel for Austin's green space while being in the heart of activity, I highly recommend this place.

Hyatt Place was clean and updated. The staff were a bit dull but not rude. I do not recommend paying extra for the "lake view" as it's just a man-made pond with a pedestrian bridge across it and you're still looking at part of the parking lot. The free breakfast was fresh and surprisingly good. Everything was restocked quickly and there was plenty of variety. Free parking was refreshing after paying $19 for overnight parking the night before near downtown Houston. The room was quiet and bed comfortable. Shower was "ok". Only real complaint was the floor having a wet spot on the carpet near the bathroom when i got there. I didn't report this to the front desk as it was late when I'd arrived and not a deal breaker for me. Overall this hotel is a great spot for the money and I'd stay here again,

The Hyatt Regency has a great new look with its recent renovation. I love that they added a parking garage with plenty of space and helpful vallet. The interior of the rooms look modern but also very cookie cutter and like they're straight out of an IKEA catalog. The interior of the hotel has a great open space but the noise (talking) from the bar area could easily be heard 11 floors up inside the room I was in. Pricing is basically comparable to the rest of the hotels in the area and if you have a river view with some height it makes up for the downfalls.

With recent renovations, The Paramount gives the perfect feel of traditional Austin. You can't go wrong with a show here as their is a constant flow of talent to entertain. The Paramount impresses from the helpful and always friendly staff to beautiful acoustics in every seat. This is a must stop in downtown Austin.
