You can't see life as a journey on a planet that's in a universe that isn't going anywhere. Our existence is more accurately analogous to music or dance

So, is Creativity declining? The short answer is yes. It has been in America since 1990. From 1990 to 2008 there has been a steady decline in creativity in the US, according to research conducted by Kyung Hee Kim at the College of William & Mary. While I couldn’t find any similar South African data, a Newsweek …

During the 4 years I taught a class on ‘Talent’ for Gibs at one of SA’s larger banks, I used to ask the class of around 30 senior managers (I taught approximately 150 full day classes during the 4 years), what percentage of the class they were sitting in they thought was talented? Answers were …

For our minds to begin the pursuit of creativity they must be emptied of the noise in our day to day existence of repetitive and structured behaviour

CEO's know that creativity is a critical skill inside of their organisations. There is a need to pay attention to increasing the levels of creativity

I have a personal interest in understanding ‘creativity’. For as long as I can remember I’ve always been an outsider. I’m careful not to call myself an outlier in case you think I’m putting myself in Malcolm Gladwell’s category of talented people. An outsider in the sense that I’ve often walked a lonely path, and if …

Story
Tagline
A dad and curious adventurer of the Future World of Work.
Introduction

I was born in Jozi, South Africa, and moved to Durban in 1993 after taking up a position at a large Youth Development NGO. I jointly headed up the International Youth Development Centre, a project that specialized in recruiting university students from countries outside of South Africa and placing them in community development projects in and around Durban. Once I stepped out of the non-profit NGO world, I toured a variety of industries and companies.

People tell me they enjoy my creative thinking and the chunk of enthusiasm that follows me around.

I've been fortunate in that my creativity has found it’s way into many organisations and projects. One currently ‘on the boil’ (and we're excited about it) is a significant contribution to one day cricket in the form of ‘DotBall’. It was recently tested in the IPL series played in South Africa, as well as two T20 internationals between South Africa and Australia. Watch Nov 2009 for the next installation : )

Internationally I've had the opportunity to work with companies and organisations in many countries, including: England, Japan, Singapore, USA (Hawaii), Southern Africa, and I've engaged with delegates from many countries throughout Africa.

In a nutshell, that's me!

A giant mall with a casino, restaurants and entertainment. Not my thing. If it was my thing I'd rate it 4.5. I do love the bookshop (Skoobs)

They do exactly what you expect they will do at the end of a flight. Sometimes lines are long, but they're speedy and efficient

Great people. Warm feel. A mix of young funky and old school. Don't visit often, but love it when I do.
