There are fears that giant Asian hornets responsible for the deaths of six people in France are en route to Britain. The insect’s toxic sting can cause death through anaphylactic shock and kidney failure.

Many years ago we had a book about the future of computers. In it was a picture of the kind of computer we'd have in our kitchens. It stood on a pedestal in the middle of the kitchen and was used by a woman (of course) to look up recipes. My wife still laughs derisively when we remember this. No tech of the 1980s would have welcomed being dusted with flour or having cooking oil dropped on its keyboard.
