At the end of last season we gave the next generation the chance to emulate their Barclays Premier League heroes, by playing at elite stadiums across the country. Up first were Marine Academy Plymouth and Crewe Arrows, who faced off at Villa Park as Aston Villa legend Ian Taylor watched on.

To enter for next season's competition visit barclays.com/spiritofthegame today.

On this day in 2010, David Silva signed for Manchester City FC before going on to make over 160 Barclays Premier League appearances and counting. Is he one of the best Spaniards to have played in England?

Often it’s the hard times that make a fan’s love for their team grow stronger. That was certainly the case with Martina Grdan, chairman of the Arsenal Croatia Supporters’ Club. After seeing Arsenal lose 6-1 to Manchester United aged 12, she never looked back when it came to supporting the Gunners. She’s since helped build the club’s Croatian fanbase to 367 members since 2006, linking up with fans across eight cities in the country.

Day three looking back at some of the best Barclays Premier League debuts, and we turn to former Everton Football Club striker James Vaughan. The Englishman became the youngest ever goal scorer in league history back in 2005, scoring against Crystal Palace when he came on aged 16 years and 271 days.

Which young players are you hoping to see debut at your club next season?

Our final dream debutant of the week came from Italy and wooed the Middlesbrough FC faithful, scoring a hat-trick against Liverpool FC to spark pandemonium on Teeside. Take a bow Fabrizio Ravanelli.

Which cult heroes at your club do you still adore?

Day four’s Barclays Premier League debutant went on to win the league twice with Manchester City FC after his goal scoring debut vs Swansea. Winner of the Barclays Golden Boot last season and one of the club's all-time best imports, it can only be Sergio Aguero.

Who is your club’s best ever foreign signing?
