From Feldkirch, Austria, it was a breeze to hop on the bus to Liechtenstein. Thirty minutes later, I'd arrived in the capital of Vaduz. Sometimes my luck is incredible. It just so happened that it was National Day, one of the most important holidays in the country. I spent the rest of the day enjoying five stages with musical performances, eating myself silly, and climbing the rock that looms over the city to see up close the medieval castle where the Prince and his family live.

My friend +Leyla Alyanak  who writes the wonderful +Women on the Road  travel blog, just surprised me by including me in a list of her favorite solo female travel blogs! There are some good oldies here (like me) and some new ones I'd never heard of, but if Leyla likes them, I'm sure I will to.And I'm sure YOU will too.
My choice of best travel blogs for solo women - utterly lacking in objectivity.

Another full-time digital nomad and long-time friend, +Anil Polat  who writes the terrific blog Foxnomad, just released a new app that provides access to wifi passwords in airports and lounges around the world. I have long referred to his blog post on this matter, but I'm excited for the app, which will make things so much easier. I'm goi g to test it right away and will report back in my experience. If I know Anil, it will be fantastic. The app is currently available for iPhone, iPad, and IPod in the App Store for $1.99.

NEW BLOG POST: Visiting #Japan: Two Weeks, Four Destinations, A Multitude of Impressions. In retrospect, visiting Japan in two weeks was overly ambitious and slightly insane. I suspect it would take months, if not years, to see everything Japan has to offer. But that just makes it all the more intriguing. http://holeinthedonut.com/2016/08/14/visiting-japan/

Hole in the Donut Cultural Travel - Connecting the World Through Storytelling
Introduction
After years of working 70 hours a week at jobs I detested, I felt like the proverbial "hole in the donut" - solid on the outside, but empty on the inside. Searching for meaning in my life, I abandoned a successful but unsatisfying career and set out on a six-month solo backpacking trip around the world, during which I pursued my true passions of travel, writing, and photography. My travel blog, http://holeinthedonut.com, was initially begun as a means to document my round-the-world trip, but by the time I returned to the States I was determined to remake myself into a travel writer, therefore I continued to travel and write about my destinations. These days I am on the road more than 60% of the time and I write about destinations, people I meet along the way, and the spiritual lessons that come from travel. It's all about being true to oneself.
