Who is ready to start the $29 Grocery Budget Challenge tomorrow with Heather of Real: The Kitchen and Beyond?
I am! And, I hope you are, too.
You'll be seeing updates on my A Life in Balance Facebook page on Fridays for the next 10 weeks. I will also be updating my Price book (find the link in my post). While my prices will be specific to my area, they will give you a fairly accurate ball park price for whole foods.

Summer can be a tough time for moms who work from home. Our summer is a patchwork of camps, baby sitters, and any other opportunities for child care while we work.
Summer should feel like freedom for moms and kids alike. But, it's not for working moms. In fact, it can be more stressful than the school year with its structured routine.
My No. 1 tip: Routines
Make a summer routine, and post it. It will look different than your school year routine. Don't be afraid to give your kids more tasks to do. Even if you spend a little time initially teaching them how to do chores, in the long run, you will maximize the time you spend on chores by making them a family affair.

As a mom of 5, frugality, planning, and good nutrition are at the heart of what I do every single day. With a teenager in the house, and a 8 year eating almost as much as his older brother, I have to stretch my time and my husband's paycheck as much as possible. Being an avid gardener for almost 20 years, I spend most of the summer canning, picking vegetables, and talking about my garden here. I talk about the food, recipes, and cooking over at Frugal Local Kitchen.Mama of the Week
