Format Your Posts Using the Post Editor Chrome Extension

I know that there are some of you out there who prefer the original way of formatting your Google+ posts.

However, some of you have been aching for Google+ to place an editor somewhere in the update box.

Why do I post more on Google+ than at Traffic Generation Café?

Where should (most of) your content live? Your site? Third-party sites?

+Clive Horton has recently asked me:

Ana,  am I reading right that you are posting your posts to Google+ and then integrating that back into your blog rather than the other way round?

I am going to use +Joe Pulizzi's words to answer to this question (I think he hit the nail on the head on this one):

We want to have a content asset. Ultimately, most people use a blog or something like that. We need some form of repository for our content in order to build a subscription strategy around that. After all, we don't own our Twitter followers.

But really, when you look at it from a big picture standpoint, the majority of your content will live on other people's sites – it will be spread around. You have the core of that content maybe on your website, but I would say well of the majority will be on other channels, other people's sites.

So me personally, even with the book, I would say 99 percent of the content we've created around the book is not on our website, it's on other people's sites. I think that's the key to getting that shared and then growing relationships with influencers. (more at +Search Engine Watch http://tgcafe.it/1gUs1BJ)

I want to be known as someone who breaks the news that help us all to grow our business, NOT report yesterday news and Google+ is the perfect platform for that.

My Marketing Skinnies (link below) are just a tidy way to present those news to the business owners who don't have the time to be glued to social media to keep track of the happenings.

'First Kiss' has generated 27 million views in just a couple of days but how many viewers would have taken the time to watch it had they known in advance that it was in fact a video ad for a clothing company? Admittedly, a brilliant, highly-shareable one, but an ad all the same.

When in doubt, assume you are right.

Glad to hear I am on the right track (of being right that is) - 35 Habits of the Creatively Prolific [MIND MAP] agree.

If there's anyone who knows how to make the most out of her time, it's +Anna Vital, an entrepreneur who lived in seven different countries in 2013, including three months spent living in a remote village in India, while managing to get her work done.

Some of my faves from her inforgraphic:

♨  Wear the same thing every day - it removes a lot of trivial decisions and clutter from her daily routine - Steve Jobs, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and Mark Zuckerberg do/did. (PAJAMAS!)

♨  If you're in doubt, assume you're right – this will increase your productivity. (my second nature)

♨  Sleep more, and you'll get more done. 

♨  Avoid attending meetings where decisions aren't made, and remember: done is better than perfect.

♨  Learn to ignore things – not everything needs to be responded to.

And finally, acknowledge the 80/20 rule of productivity: think about which 20% of your work produces 80% of the result.
