... i am Solyndra and i do NOT approve this message  ...
I approve this message.
I'll support you on Wind, Solar, Geothermal and Wave energy Mr. President.  I don't support you on home-grown energy sources like "Clean Coal", fracking / shale gas, or any other hydrocarbon based nonsense.
i am from Brasil, i approve this mensage!
+Katherine Phillips As a vegan, you approve of bird death and more coal plants that are needed when the wind doesn't blow?
From economical stand point I am not sure that wind turbins are cost effective though. They break, replacements are very costly and they don't generate that much power. Also they are ugly as hell. But I am 100% for the alternative energy. Nuclear power was pushed over other sources because of the military influence anyway
Ray Sanders
I agree with you President +Barack Obama, we need more Solar, Wind and Geothermal energy, and less dependence on oil. More investments in Science, Technology, Education and Math are needed as well.
i also approve this message. green energy is the best of all energies. all countries should prefer it.
volan shu
It not only for USA, but for global.
I agree president Obama we chose your plan for our future. Four more years.
Start packing BO. November will be here before you know it.
I'm on board with your words, but it's all lies.  I voted for you once based on your lies, but not again.
AIR QUALITY is what I'm all about, and you are the enemy.
And how many of your green investments are now bankrupt? Stop wasting our tax dollars.
Obama is a lying predator and we are his prey.  VOTE HIM OUT!!
oh! They're German. Well that makes sense /sarcasm....
How you guys like supporting Greece?
You're German - YOU do something about it. Quit asking for America to HELP YOU
ohhh banana republics. too many out there.
+ Eileen Heath, I can assure you, Germany doesn't need US's help.
Troy Orem
Because all the attempts to force solar energy worked so well.
We're with you Mr. President!
+ Roman Furtuna I thank you for speaking clearly. Yes, Germany doesn't and has never asked for help like others (cough England) but I'm just feeding this troll. We're curious how much more their language skill can deteriorate.
My husband is a crane operator for windmills.  It is fantastic.
It is almost amusing how uneducated Obama's detractors are. Then you realize they can vote. Simply more evidence of the need for increased funding of public schools, which Romney would eliminate almost entirely in his budget proposal.
No problem +Eileen Heath let me know if you have any questions. Let's clean up America and help our families financially at the same time!
+Jesse Bohanan Let me educate you. 1.5% growth, 15% unemployment, energy prices doubled. Obama built that.
HE HASN'T, HE DOESN'T, AND HE WON'T PROMOTE DOMESTIC ENERGY!  It's a big-assed lie from a big-assed liar.
Clean energy to protect the whole world. And the best proof disaster Japan
But do some good for Muslims also.
We have plenty of homegrown energy. Called oil, we just need to drill for it and break OPEC's monopoly until alternatives become practical.
Pipe down William, the age of oil is not infinite. The point about clean energy is future energy, oil is neither clean nor the future.
If the hot air coming out of most people's mouths could be harnessed, that would probably create infinite energy.
+William Carlson According the U.S. Bureau of Labor, unemployment is at 8.2% right now. While energy prices certainly have increased, I remember a massive increase in the price of gas during the last administration... far greater than what we've experienced during the past term. You are right about the rate of growth, though.
Thinking outside of the box to deal with problems that are going to impact upon us (the global us) in the future seems to me--regardless of politics--something that is a good thing.  The great thing about ideas is that they are just that: ideas.  They  can be changed and shaped based upon the realities of the "now," be those a matter of local government, closed-world economics or whatever.  Being aware of new opportunities doesn't mean that you have to adopt them.
This.will.not only save America but of the world. Maybe even gives a new perspective in US International trade relations with Gulf & Asian countries which are energy resources rich. From a greedy country whose interest is to grab n drain energy resources of those countries, to a US of A who pionered and teach.the rest of the world to save the environment and be once again leader of the world in human & environment friendly applied technology. Bravo Mr. PRESIDENT, I support!
you stink at making dissensions so don't be our president!!!!!!!
Four more years Obama 2012!
Sad. America is soooooo much smarter than this!

kyle p
How do you know Obumbles is lying?.... His lips are moving.
I guess I am against God. But I am definitely for freedom of choice and equality of all citizens and yes under God. You don't judge me he does and unlike you I know my Bible. Jesus christ died to save me and since then we should love others as Jesus did. So if you ignorant individual want to throw that crap in peoples face please understand religion is for everyone. All you have to do is believe.
I am with just about anything to reduce or eliminate our dependency on OPEC. We have the technology and the minds to use it, so lets do it!
How do I block this crap from my feed?
can we burn christian extremists to power coal plants instead of coal?
Yes we need to invest in clean energy I agree
Wind power is at best 20% efficient.  Natural gas and Coal generation is upwards of 60% efficient.  All those in favor of tripling your energy bill please raise you hand.
I am not surprised in this country but to be aware what state do you live in? Republican supporters are mostly extremists that don't care for others kind of like Muslim extremists while others respect free speech they suppress it when its against them.
A little know wind-farm fact.  They kill lots of migrating birds.  Google it, it is not a small number
Attention-starved troll is starved for attention.
Wind energy? Yes! Build the transmission lines so that the turbines don't sit idle. Ethanol? No...automobiles are eating our food and the food of our livestock...there is no gain to be had with ethanol.
Nice, We don't need Mitt... ;-) John
Ya nice! Kiss more @$! it will make everything better... Maybe if we keep steady on our path China can come over here and figure it out for us.
Thanks Obama, I think we really need to press this matter, as it is far long been pushed to the side. We are in the year 2012, there is no reason why most of our energy supplies should not have been transitioned to clean energy or new energy sources for clean power to be created.  THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS
How many windmills would Michelle's bs trip to Spain on our tax dollars buy? She blew 500k of our tax dollars for a vacation! And all this while the country struggles.
Silly Obama, you don't grow wind.
Why all the Romney chat? Obama's post had NOTHING to do with Romney. It is a review of his current policies.
that may be true., but looks untrue when obama says it
Obama needs to go back to Kenya.... and stay there.
What a wall st clown this dude is. Mitt and barry satero are the same. Ron paul or revolution
Wind power like the Kennedys didn't want near them. They also kill many birds and are just ugly to look at.

Oh yeah green jobs like solyndra and others that have and will continue to fail.

This president is a joke and anyone who votes for him is foolish.
Barack Obama signed the 2012 NDAA in to law on December 31, 2011. Ouch my habeas corpus hurts.
i agree but i dont think oboma is a good presendent and should not be reelected.!!
Mr President,Good Morning!
Sigh.  More lip service from a politician.  The old joke of 'How can you tell a politician is lying?  His lips are moving"  :)  When you see this being talked about everywhere, THEN it's a real deal.  When it's just a speech, it's a platitude to the masses to appease their concerns all the wile 'carving up' the North Pole for more oil...
If I have anything to say about it he will stay here. Four more years. Mr Donaldson he will win yet again and if you look at the polls mitt the twit is losing. Btw when is mitt producing his taxes.
I think we are spending wayyy too much on clean energy!

How about trying to save some of that money that is being wasted cleaning up previous messes?

Ie: camp lejeune and camp geiger, load about a dozen trucks a day. Being paid detention about an hour or two each day. All because some guy who is retired military working civil service, wants to have power. He is wasting the tax dollar every day at about $1000+ because he is too important to wait on a truck!

Isn't that his job?
Any industry dependent on govt subsidies is bound to fail
+George Ito With 15% unemployment the Obama Cartel has pretty much already done that.
Please, please, please!!! Don't vote for this idiot again! How can you look at everything he's done and say that ANY of it has been helpful? He's a good speaker, but that's all he is. His ideas don't work and they don't even make any sense, GO GO GO GO GO AWAY!
We need to keep jobs here & that means using our resources!
His presidency is losing more jobs than it has created and losing more daily. Only delusion let's one see good only and blind to the truth.
John Lu
I live in Boston, and there is a huge wind turbine that was installed in Everett, MA. It must be cost a big chunk of money for the size of it. However, the turbine has never been running for more than a year now. It stands there and block the city view and never ever runs. It is a huge waste of taxpayers' money. Everyday, I drive to and back from work including weekend, and I never see that thing running. Way to go to invest in green energy but never put or in use! 😔
You need to stop polluting the the world full stop as do the developing nations unless you don't want a world to live in. Start leading the way and help change the world.
Just remember You didn't build that Obama!
+Kit Malone Sorry. You need to look at U-6 numbers to get the real truth. The 8.2% is bogus.
Last I heard your military industry hasn't "failed" ....too bad for the world!
He's not even a good speaker.
If it works and is profitable the private sector will do it. No breed for govt to
+Johnathan Kelley what u said about Obama's father is false.and just show how uninformed you are about our culture. Obama's father is a Moslem. No Moslem eat dogs or snake which are Harram or forbiden in their religion teachings. Although I am a Christian Indonesian I know my moslem brothers habits as well. We are not barbarians as you think!
How about you drill some oil that's right here in America?
When is mitt the twit going to bring some $ from Cayman islands to invest in wind energy cause he blows.
+Phil Davis I've actually Googled that, and, yes, it's not a small number - unless you compare it to the number of birds killed flying into windows every year, in which case it is a small number (something like 20,000 vs 100,000,000 - 900,000,000 in the US alone).  Add in the numbers killed by domestic cats , pollution, and the like, and wind turbines are responsible for less (possibly much less) than 0.003% of birds killed by human influences.  Fossil fuel power plants alone kill something like 700 times as many birds as wind farms do, so if you're concerned about birds, you should be agitating to shut down the coal-fired power plants ASAP!
(numbers via Wikipedia, yes, it took me all of 15 seconds to find them)
+Roger van der Velde It may or may not be infinite, but there is certainly enough to carry us until alternatives become practical enough so that people want to buy them.
I am sorry Mr. President, but wind can only generate a small percentage of our energy needs and the wind does not blow all the time.  Industry needs consistent energy and a lot of it.
President Obama has done an excellent job cleaning up the mess created by Bush and the Republicans. Of course we will vote to stay the course and not go back to a Republican disaster.
im sorry, i might support this cause when the dollar becomes more valueble, which, at the moment, is not happening
Jean-Luc Lambert? Are you from America? It's just that your name sounds very French....and that country is bankrupt
even though  live in Canada but i am american born in California, San Diego PEACE OUT!!!!!!!
Just like the jobs he created for us with China building those bridges!! Oh wait...
he gives the true meaning to the word dickhead!
Mitt the twit is trailing in the polls by 7 points and every week it will rise. When will he produce his taxes. Just curious if he contributed to this nation besides outsourcing jobs to .make his friends rich. Four more years
Maybe if we took away all the fossil fuel subsidies we could have fully funded these technologies instead of treating them like they are fool hardy ventures. Just think about it, our primary energy sources are dead plants and animals. The reason things like solar are unattractive is that in the long term there is no profit in it. That is why we will see the rise of hydrogen vehicles where we have to fuel up at a station. But with hydrogen why not build the hood and roof from solar cells to provide power to extract hydrogen from water as the fuel is needed. Same thing for the home power, develop whole home Hydrogen Fuel Cell Power stations(See Honda) with it's electrolysis energy supplied from solar panels. No need for hydrogen fuel stations other than for long range travel and you get a distributed power grid to boot. Not saying these are the only ways, we need to really look at the options. We also need to remove profit from our energy systems. Bottom line to just throw in the towel and blindly walk of the cliff is just dumb.
A solar system over your roof will save you money. Now add a Chevy volt or a Nissan leaf and you will be saving really good money.
why do people like the president's there all the devil.
Clean air,PLEASE.that is why I voted for him.AND I WILL VOTE FOR HIM AGAIN!!!. We are struggling to breathe around here.
We're seeing the benifits of clean energy here in Washington State--3% of state mandates on renewable energy and we're about to extend the grid with hydraulic "batteries" to improve overall grid efficiency.  Local CC is working with wind generating producers to train mechanics and installation techs.  This is something we reay should be seeing more of.  Huge stretches of the Palouse would be ideal for wind-farms while safeguarding crucial farmland.
Hes a Puppet! & Romney sucks Lucifer's jagon!  Go Paul 2012!!
First of all this is an honor of reading a post from the president
Second I agree totally
not to be rude. but why not burn cow flop instead of coal? people in the old times used to do that
I agree Bajic. Well said friend
hey obama. what a clever man.iraq,iran,afghan. u attack for oil.why not burma kill buddhist?
He had four years to do that, and he just HAPPENS to think of it now? He also added 33% of the debt we have now. Need I continue?
"Renewable/clean" energy costs more than traditional sources, which increases the cost of every economic activity in the US. This is exactly the kind of thinking we need to finish off our economy. Ethanol ended up using more fossil fuels than it saved. Good job hippies. ;-)
If you've seen the west texas and new mexico fields of gigantic wind farms, you would understand this is definitely the truth
Love the comment Mr Lincoln great hope for the future all possible to make green energy possible. Does anyone remember the first electric car that was diminished by big corporations because they wanted to keep making profit from oil sales. Big business doesn't support innovation. Silicon valley started by 8 guys that couldn't get funding from the big corporations and one lone investor made it happen and from one company silicon valley grew. Corporations don't grow new business especially with risk. Obama forward
You claim to want to create jobs and yet you have helped to push to have more apple computers put in the hands of government employees, a company that has taken jobs away from the US and has publicly mentioned that they refuse to bring them back. These computers have been shown to be a middle class quality and of the weakest security of all OS's so there was of no reason to purchase them. You bought them because of personal preference.

If you truly wish to create and keep jobs, take a very close look at your own actions for they speak much much louder then these hollow words you had someone else write for you
I agree, but not only in America. Canada needs to do the same... especially in Alberta, which is at the whim of the boom/bust cycle of commodities (really, primarily oil). If you want a sustainable economy in Alberta, green energy is a must because the oil industry is extremely volatile, and it's economy is directly linked to it. What goes up, must go down, as newton once said.
Take money away from private sector and give it to Obama's cronies. Two jobs created for every three destroyed.
Oil, Coal, Nat Gas, and Nuclear Power. Lets put all these Americans back to work. All your so called "Green Energy" is produced over seas.  ROMNEY / RYAN - 2013
+Jim Clark My advise to you is fill your pick up full of pig shit. Then find a paved road to dump it on. Pour 55 gallons of 40 weight  on top of that. Then learn to drive on it. The reason is because this year it will probaly snow in places it don't snow . That will prove there is no global warming. Just Santa Claus making new runways.
Jobs come and go: where's the security, in the longevity.
Ofcourse, wouldnt you promote wind turbines if your in bed with general electric (the manufacturer). Flip a coin when you vote. Getting the shaft either way.
If you disagree with the photo, vote R&R in November.
Traditional sources just defer the "hidden" costs. That kind of thinking leads to short-term gain and long-term pain.
Yes, We should waste more money. Please vote for Obama and put this country in Bankruptcy. Please Wake-up!!!!!

Send to everyone you know.

PS: Notice S.S. and the military are NOT on this list.
+Steve Winslow , source on the ethanol statement? Also, you don't think that maybe spending some money raising awareness to people to step off the stuff that never comes back is a bad thing? Call me an environmentalist, but it doesn't matter what you believe when we won't be here in a century or so when the "traditional" values first-world countries are built on collapse. Also, if you don't think progressively and towards the future, the economy will finish itself off anyways.. All this coming from a 16 year old junior in high school.
Burn coal baby burn as a coal miner myself I say if you don't want to burn coal fired plants turn your damn electric off cause that's what you will have if you vote Obama back in
Stop the war on coal fire Obama
Jonathon...did no one ever tell you it's better to be thought of as an idiot than open your mouth and remove all doubt? I bet there are at least 3 decisions that President Obama made that have improved your life but being guiding by ignorance you can't see it. Open your eyes, stop your hate it will only consume you.
Unfortunately mr President for every dollar it makes it will cost 4 dollars out of middle class pockets.
Obama is a joke. Wind energy, solar energy are all fads. Do yourself a favor and research the issue. Bunch of lemmings!!!
I agree we need to invest in clean natural energy but this is a joke. We need to drilling and refining also until the technology catches up. The largest solar power company in the world will only power a suburb and only employs 15 or less people, so where are all these jobs?? It's a propaganda lie, that was fed millions from the stimulus package.
The government cannot force an industry to succeed as we've seen from the millions wasted and sent over sea's already. Private industry will provide when the demand is there.
That's what horse owners said about the automobile.
Yay love energy that saves money
Do you mean invest in clean energy companies like Salindra, that went into bankruptcy just after the Obama administration gave them millions.  Or like the wind farms in the mid west that have most of their windmills on shut down, oh I forgot those windmills are made overseas. Yes they are investing in companies that are big political bundlers...... Tis administration only cares about staying in power not clean energy....
Wtf bro hes trying to save the planet!
yeah! i agree!!!!! go Obama!
Is he talking about ethanol subsidies?  The thing that is worse for the environment than oil, and is making food prices higher?  And wind energy isn't much better.  Its already been proven than wind turbines cause local warming, and the business model for wind energy will not work without a subsidy which means it is useless in the real world, yet I'm forced to buy it with my tax money.  Bleh...
Work with him! Congress spends too much time and effort working against him. (without a good reason)
I suspect we all agree to more renewables but we need to let the private sector figure it out. Name one command econ that has achived more than americas free market has in the last 200 yrs! ......
Stephen, Dave: Maybe you should do some research. In Oklahoma, Iowa, Nevada, et al, wind energy has already been proven to provide as much power as traditional generation. The power companies in those areas are fighting it because it breaks their monopolies. If you have a real case and real evidence that these methods don't produce enough power make your argument. But don't give these fake lines your heard in a sound bite on the news. Argue your ideas, not ignorance.
Upstate NY, they built a big wind farm, spent lots of money making it. Yet, the transmission lines never came. Now they've been largely turned off. West Texas, lots of wind, lots of turbines, not many transmission lines. Very little benefit to anybody. Great Britain, 139 big wind farms, the government has to pay them to shutter them and keep workers employed at the other power generation plants. They could shut one down for a full year with the money they're being paid not to produce.

The problem with any of these products is...If you go all in on them. What happens to those people who had jobs at those others? Power generation jobs pay well. These wind farms usually get by with one tech for every ten turbines. The industry standard is for two techs per ten, but the industry doesn't have to pay for the additional tech. Jobs aren't plentiful these last few years. Do we want to put more people on the sidelines now?

Coal workers are paying the brunt of this administrations drive to shutter more plants. Not even the Navaho and Hopi Indians are being spared in Arizona. They run a plant that supplies their needs in NE Arizona. The mine supplying it is also worked by Navaho tribes members. So, to shutter this plant, where does these folks go. And how much more do they have to pay for electricity from further away?

This administration's drive has been misguided. Big projects don't usually work. The better approach would be little projects. Some solar and wind at every house. Reduce the need to build more power generation plants to go along with population growth. Slow the individuals meters down, reduce their electric bill and allow them to contribute their excess to the grid. A 400 Watt vertical wind turbine will produce 40 kWt's a month. That will offset your lights at night. Add another for more items...5 210 watt solar panels facing south can produce 140 kWt's a month in the summer, 60 in the winter.

I know it's small, but a lot of this 'small' will add up. As people gain experience with these they can always expand. See, I believe it's conservative to conserve.
Please quit wasting our taxes on this unsustainable crap. If it can't stand on its own in the industry its a LIE!
Just kick those others off the ballet
Green jobs? Solyndra? Not with my money you won't!
I bet most of the folks here complaining would have been riding horses by Henry Ford saying that his Model T would never fail.
+William Carlson It most definitely is not infinite. And simply stating that it will last until alternatives are practical doesn't make it so.

Fact is that world oil reserves are a complete unknown because most of the world doesn't release production outputs.

I will give you that the US has oil supplies that we should be tapping. Last I checked, offshore drilling had resumed under Obama.

The time for alternative energy isn't right before oil runs out. We need to invest and build infrastructure NOW so that we don't face an energy crisis in the future.

No matter what way you spin it, America cannot support itself on her oil alone. Harnessing renewable resources makes America more self sustainable.

If you need to argue, argue about which renewable energy source is best for the future. Germany has gone solar, France is nuclear, china is big on hydroelectric. Wind is widespread as well. Oil is not the answer though, the sooner we cut our reliance on it the better.
Obama's fiscal irresponsibility is sentencing our children to economic slavery.
+Joel Carlson Yeah. Sure, after four years still blaming Bush and things have only gotten worse.
We could have clean air if he quits lying
Isiaah: do you have health care? do you have child under 26? do you or anyone in your family have a pre-existing condition?
Regardless of which side of the fence from which you sling your mud, I'm pretty sure it's a well-known fact that wind energy is costly, inconsistent, requires a lot of real estate, and also creates its own form of pollution in noise. I'm not saying we don't need to develop reliable renewable energy. But eliminating standing energy jobs at the hint of a promise of creating and innovating new and standing inefficient technologies is not the way to turn around a recession.
First get this mad consumerism under control (if you want to). Everything needs to be dirt cheap in the US. The more the better. Mostly, of course, made in China. Stop wasting energy, thus resources! It's not just the US, of course. But they've been THE role model for it all. I hope they can be a good role model in the future.
Yes, definitely, +Ivan Malave  because any time a bank lends a business money, and that business goes bankrupt, it's the banks fault.

SO by your logic, if the business succeeds, then the bank deserves credit, too? Which means they didn't do it alone. :)
Wind and Solar are the most heavily subsidized industries in the US.  T Boone wanted to start a wind farm in North Texas and decided against it.  Obama's clean energy spent $29 billion. Most of it went offshore. The wind money went to Denmark and the solar went Mexico. Very little stayed in the US.
All across the country and all across Iowa. Since when is Iowa not part of the country?
I don't suppose any of these claims have links do they, or do I need to just keep looking in the right side corner of my moniter.
宣传标语要简洁 写那么长谁有耐心研究啊
I presented an idea in my work place. The President of the company said it was useless. The next day he presented my idea as his. Since he is white he is right. Obama care was created by Romney.
The United States cannot be saved by a black man. The United States must  be saved by a white President. When a white is President Obama care will be relabeled and sold to the public as the right plan.
Globalization really is about not just a single country doing business. See the new Boeings, parts build all over the World.
Yay to Obama green energy is a topic of discussion and not war in Iraq or Afghanistan looking for fake WMD. This the difference real issues that affect us here everyday. That's why president Obama is our pick for another four years.
You're a liar and worse than Romney by far.
I don't get all of you? Please explain why you think this president is capable of anything. All of you have to be smarter than that. Anyone who has to raise a billion dollars to get elected is not cool! I just don't get it.
So we're creating jobs in all the bankrupt companies you have been backing? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.
We can fund these companies with all of the fines and settlements from the corrupt bankers!
Obama, a great source of wind, but no action.
Barack Obama makes Jimmy Carter look like a good candidate.
ea ea...cemungut ea....
it makes government decide which business to help at the expense of  hurting everyone else
I am not into politics but I don't like it.
Think about consequences and outcome, the abominable disrespect for those of us who have worked for 20, 30, 50 years for someone who lives off our working class tax dollars to say so blatantly that they are going to mess with my Medicare I paid in all of these years! Vote for Romney and you will really get whit you paid for! And I approve this message.
umm,update me,Iowa ISN'T a state? i't has been for,like,EVER.
I can't believe that just said that Romney will depend on foreign oil! Obama has only depended on foreign oil. Like Obama will ever drill over in the us. Obama has not created a single net plus job his whole presidency. And he's spent more than all other presidents combined. And hidden the spending of our hard earned money away from us to stimulus bills that hit a dead end. Then what happens to the money that was put into that? Oh yeah it just disappears!!! This president is doing a magic trick. He's taking our hard earned money to put on stimulus bills and then they collapse and the money just disappears. Who is really paying attention to the economy these days!?!?! The knowledge of the American people, in one word, disappointing. Fox news actually asked regular people what our first president was. Some people didn't even know. And if they had an answer they said Abraham Lincoln. I was very disappointed at those people because these people were 20-40 years old. I'm 14 and I know all of out presidents. I must say they may not be in order but at least I know our presidents names. And mostly the president that started it all, George Washington. You should know at least our first president. This is what we get for paying teacher unions more money. For less education. I had one social studies teacher. I was smarter than him. Let that sink in for a minute. A 14 year old teenager knew more that a 27 year old man. He got fired after my family and many more families thats kids have that same teacher complained and signed a petition to have a better teacher.

The returns will be many folds from job creations for all classes of citizens, innovations, tax revenues, jumpstart economy to the road of real hopes, so on...
johnathan and terry you belong together and as for talking about the childrens
mothers YOU WILL reap what you sow!!!! PEACE!!!
Absolute nonsense.  Solyndra jobs are certainly great these days.
Is he planing putting dolor fan in orbit?
Give Obama the house and senate and your self imposed troubles will disapear.
Romney/Ryan will wipe the floor with Obama. And not a moment too soon. Repeal socialized medicine!
+Erik Kempf Ethanol is a wasteful inefficient energy source. It produces far less energy than it costs to produce. Much better to drink it.
Hey Obama, you know that bank bailout was more money than the combined funds given to NASA for the past 50 years???  What the hell is wrong with your budget analysts.  Do you not value the future of our country???
Not only does wind energy cost more. You do realize that wind farms raise the temperature where they are located. Farmers have been using wind turbines in their orchards for years to prevent frost on the fruit.
If your not working on solar or alternative fuel you can't get a grant because you can't even apply, Most grant money goes back to utilities for telling buisenesses how to run thier buisnesses.
Please people. Do a little research into the amount of time needed for these windmills to pay for themselves and decide for yourself if these are via me sources of energy. Let alone the jobs created to mfg these are not typically domestic and for every couple hundred windmills it creates one job to maintain them. Not my idea of great job creation.
+Vince Fuess and vote that other idiot in? Lol. You, sir are delusional.
Almost all our allies have socialized medicine.except china the communist one.
Lies lies Mr peters why don't you go back to Saudi Arabia and bomb something to boost defense budget so you can play Rambo. I agree with you we should cut spending defense spending the largest cost to us. Hopefully the warn act can give us a heads up. Yup warn act. Let's work for self sufficiency and less dependants on oil industry and eventually nuclear energy. Obama four more years
How can I get this obama crap off of here?
+Anthony Willis You make absolutely no sense. How does it break power company monopolies? If it was so great they would simply diversify into wind generation.
Read +SuperFreakonomics , they are a cute fad, but not a real solution to our energy needs. Smarter liberals then me believe this.
Can we do it smartly please? How about less giant ugly bird-swatting windmills and more solar panels on top of every big-box stores.
Solar - Bankrupt. Solyndra - Bankrupt. Abound - Bankrupt. Etc, etc, etc. Obama's energy investing is great at wasting tax payer money...not much else.
I fail to see how coal, natural gas, nuclear, and geothermal energy does not produce jobs.

Quit using buzzwords!
Ok, those jobs are being created here in Texas; I see wind turbine blades headed north on I-35 all the time.  Still don't like it because it's wasting my tax dollars, or, at least, wasting the tax dollars of my great-grandchildren.
I want my money back from Solindra. Your policies should be locked up in chains.
Got great president/he'sworking hard for everyone/Steve
Know way but i hope obama win, Then you will wepp on the ground. I'm 77 &youer comming my way
Yeah, because green energy is going to make energy prices lower.... bullshit! You have to pay extra to use wind electricity!!!
This massive idea for a switch over to "clean energy" is tragically under thought...more than anything we need to be focusing on the massive infrastructure changes needed to be able to deal in the future...if the inefficient ways in which power is used stored and transported don't change first no "clean" solution will ever stand a chance.
+William Carlson What motivation does a company have to move to cleaner energy when they make plenty of profit on a finite resource that doesn't require any new infrastructure?

Sometimes innovation needs a push. There are companies that push the envelope, but there are far far more that are happy where they are. And like it or not, our futures are tied to these companies investments. We need to plan ahead and make sure our energy requirements are sustainable.
Agreed Mr Gunn I want my money back from 2 failed wars. As for solyndra I will give you your money if mitt the twit produces his taxes.
we want the things that a real not a dream thanks mike g for stateing that
Royce M
Borma is killing muslem
We have plenty energy in U.S. just have to get it. NObama doesn't have a clue. Thinks we all need to drive electric golf carts and have ugly windmills all over the country side. Solyndra sums him up.
I'm not right here in America, I live in a civilised country where people don't carry guns, and where healthy people take precedence over military might.
Its what we need, And yes we can do it.
BS more feel good crap from a do nothing president
American wind energy as it is today is a scam. Why should somebody have to pay extra for it? Nuclear energy with modern technology that will make it safer is the way to go I think.
Show me why it's really clean. I may give a like.
makes you think whats in it for the pres.kinda like the idea of gen motors moving us into the green future, we have already givin them money
I can't wait to see you go down in November. We learn from our mistakes.
After reading all the comments I only have one real question...

Who the HELL gave +Bajic Zivko the god damn internet?!?

Holy christ on a rubber crutch. That was tough to read.
You can't get rid of the Obama Twitters, they show up everytime someone tries to logically discuss the issues, trying to confuse the subject. Thats why I call them Twitters. I'm with Mitt! Not the Twitt!
+papa show me Obamas college transcripts first. It's out there he applied as an exchange student.

Obama is the ram all u sheep go with him over the cliff by no2
The people who have the money to invest in a future are buisy robbing us at the pump(their grandpappies pump) and evading taxes. Their bigest overhead item is buying politicians that don't come cheap these days. Why do you think gas is so high?
Leave the investment in these speculative energy sources to the private sector. Your investment record in these is abysmal and has cost the tax payer far too much.
you need to lower gas prices barack obama
1. Get serious about alternative power sources like wind generated energy.

2. Continue to suck oil and gases out of the earth as we watch it's surface grow old and wrinkle.

No one who is not undereducated on life on Earth thinks wind turbine power is the solution to the World's energy needs. Every expert and investor will be front and center in telling us that we are at a starting point in finding alternative energy sources, but we need to get started on something that coming generations can improve on.

If wind ain't your thing, ... then what?
Why not take all of the government subsidies from big oil, I don't think they really need them anymore, and put it towards alternative energy. That's fair.
in nevada some of our sustainable power comes from geothermal, that is availible everywhere except for the poles
We need to invest on getting you the fuck out of the white house!
By "FIGHT FOR", doesn't he mean to say "GO BANKRUPT PAYING FOR". Wind energy is a joke. The cheapest, most reliable, most abundant, most versatile source of dependable energy comes from oil. Why do we have to let a few loud tree huggers set the narrative? Wind and solar is a government experiment that is full of fraud and cronyism. Stop letting these liberal mind-numbed robots like Barry Soetoro lie to the American people. Demand the truth for the morons and half-wits that don't care enough to question the liberal media's lies.
Yes they have why due to Republican irresponsibility. Economic meltdown caused by deregulation of the financial industry. Outsourcing of jobs by big business to make profit while laying off people. Yay to the warn act. I say we want to keep moving forward and not back to 800,000 jobs last the month president Obama took office. That's why bush Jr isn't invited to the Republican convention he is a failure and mitt the twit is going to apply the same policies No. Obama forward 2012.
Talk..... Its all talk. AlI we will ever hear is bull$h!t from these politicians.
Well, he might be a good president if he wasn't pro abortion, attack the catholic church and it's teaching, and killing the economy, other than that, he is good
+Skip Ploss we shouldn't subsidize any energy industry. We have been subsidizing wind for over 50 years and it is still no profitable.
My father has a good Job in the job field and cracking they hope they can Keep this new Job so what i'm proposing is that obama and the presidents cabinet don't put out and shut down my man job. its agriculture and geological (cracking)
While I agree that we need to get away from "foreign oil" I think there are other more economical ways that we could do this and create better long term jobs in the process. Its just to bad that we have a terrible president in the white house who is too much of an ideologue to know what's right and wrong for our country. Let's just hope you're a one term President.
What happened to your other energy projects that went broke? Be more practical.
+Stevie Ray Because OPEC has a monopoly and greenies won't allow more refineries. That's why. Oh not to mention that BHO's energy secretary wants gas to go to $8.00 a gal at the pump.
Four more years good job president Obama we are behind you. 2012.
I like it, make our country green and more beautiful!
Wind turbines are noisy and expensive, but they are getting quieter and cheaper as technology develops.
You have huge unpopulated areas there so they don't need to be in anyone's back yard.
I wonder how much energy could be created from acres of solar panels in your deserts?
The energy is there to be harnessed.
(I'm in Wales, where everything is generally small scale, but "The developer of a 160-turbine off shore wind project in Liverpool Bay off the coast of Wales announced that construction was now underway. The Gwynt y Mor wind project will generate 576 MW of electricity, enough to supply 400,000 homew or one third of the homes in Wales")
K Spears
The more we implement, the faster the technology will develop. We need to increase solar power as well.
Next, start construction of Cape Wind!
don't worry i got your back!!!!!!!!!!!
i totally agree with the msg.........obama is the best
Program yang bagus, kami mendukung. Lebih bagus bukan hanya untuk AS, tetapi juga untuk seluruh dunia, khususnya juga Indonesia.
The following are 24 stats that show just how much Obama has royally messed up our economy….
#1 Under Bill Clinton, the average unemployment rate was 5.2 percent. Under George W. Bush, the average unemployment rate was 5.3 percent. Under Barack Obama, things have been much worse. The month after he took office the unemployment rate rose above 8 percent and it has stayed there ever since.
#2 Under Barack Obama, the velocity of money (a very important indicator of economic health) has plunged to a post-World War II low.
#3 Real median household income has decreased by more than 4000 dollars since Barack Obama entered the White House.
#4 The United States has plenty of oil and we should not have to import it from the Middle East. Unfortunately, Barack Obama has an absolutely nightmarish energy policy. Under Bill Clinton, the number of drilling permits approved rose by 58 percent. Under George W. Bush, the number of drilling permits approved rose by 116 percent. Under Barack Obama, the number of drilling permits approved decreased by 36 percent.
#5 When Barack Obama took office, the average price of a gallon of gasoline was $1.85. Today, the average price of a gallon of gasoline is $3.71.
#6 Under Barack Obama, the United States has lost more than 300,000 education jobs.
#7 Since Barack Obama became president, the number of long-term unemployed Americans has risen from 2.7 million to 5.2 million.
#8 For the first time in the post-World War II era, the employment-population ratio has not bounced back after a recession. The percentage of working age Americans with a job has been below 59 percent for 35 months in a row.
#9 While Barack Obama has been president, U.S. home values have fallen by another 12 percent.
#10 More than three times as many new homes were sold in the United States in 2005 as will be sold in 2012.
#11 Electricity bills in the United States have risen faster than the overall rate of inflation for five years in a row. Thanks Obama.
#12 When Barack Obama first entered the White House, an ounce of gold was going for about $850. Today, the price of gold is over $1630 an ounce.
#13 Since 2008, our economy has lost 1.3 million jobs while at the same time 3.6 million more Americans have been added to Social Security’s disability insurance program.
#14 The number of Americans on food stamps has grown from 31.9 million when Barack Obama took office to 46.4 million today. How much more “hope and change” are we going to be able to endure?
#15 As I wrote about the other day, it is being projected that Obamacare will add 16 million more Americans to the Medicaid rolls.
#16 If you can believe it (and this really is hard to believe), more than half of all Americans are now at least partially financially dependent on the government.
#17 The total amount of money that the federal government gives directly to the American people has grown by 32 percent since Barack Obama became president.
#18 Under Barack Obama, federal spending as a percentage of GDP (25 percent) is the highest that it has been since World War II.
#19 The Obama administration has been spending money on some of the most insane things imaginable. For example, in 2011 the Obama administration spent $592,527 on a study that sought to figure out once and for all why chimpanzees throw poop.
#20 The U.S. government has run a budget deficit of well over a trillion dollars every single year under Barack Obama.
#21 Under Barack Obama, U.S. debt was downgraded from AAA status for the first time ever.
#22 Since Barack Obama took office, the U.S. national debt has increased by 50 percent.
#23 Since Barack Obama became president, the U.S. national debt has increased by an average of more than $64,000 per taxpayer.
#24 During the Obama administration, the U.S. national debt has grown more than it did from the time that George Washington became president to the beginning of Bill Clinton’s second term as president.
THE ONLY ISSUE IS: mr. president, if u & r country are not on God's side re: marriage between one man & one woman and the killing of babies, why will God allow u 2 lead us n turning r economy around?
What do you think the chances are that Romney would introduce polygamy?
Think about it, it would appease Mormons & Muslims simultaneously!
+Melanie Holzman  I would rather have wind turbines fall down during a tornado, than an oil spill in the ocean during a hurricane.
Obama ftw!
thank you for caring about us mr. president. keep up the good work
Lean and green that's the way we must go!!!!!!!!!!!
Drill here, drill now.  Yes we can...drill our way out of this.
I know Mitt has the right plan for America. nuff said.
It's the economy, stupid!! Home made clean energy doesn't mean squat if were all stuck depending on government handouts. The Obama administration doesn't seem to get it. They seem to think easy welfare (government cheese) is good enough for the American people. Well, think again! comes November we're going to elect a true business leader so we can get on with doing business like the successful capitalist country we used to be. Screw Obamanomics and his socialist agenda. We want opportunities, not handouts!!
Any thinking person can clearly see that this is NOT the time to overhaul our energy infrastructure. Fix the economy first. Get the government out of the way of business trying to turn a profit.. you know, so they can hire people?

Speaking of which, we hired Obama to work toward fixing our broken economy. It's been over 3 1/2 years and we have yet to see any significant improvements. The few jobs that have been created are minimum wage, medial, part-time. And the slightly better unemployment ratings is mostly due to so many jobless that have run out of benefits and/or given up on the job market, thus they are not counted in the unemployment figures.

We are several trillions deeper in debt. Of course, some of that is due to the Bush/Cheney fiasco, but not all of in by any means... a huge chunk of the new debt is Obama's doing. A $700 Billion stimulus package, most of which seems to have fallen through the cracks and ended up lining bureaucrats pockets. Remember? "Well, I guess they just weren't shovel ready yet." A 700 Billion Dollar Oopsie!!!

(On a side note, I'm a native Chicagoan and having watched Chicago politicians all my life, I seriously doubt that money was ever meant fund the projects for which it was advertised.)

Recent news says that the White House has put together a 2-step plan to take the edge off the fiscal cliff we're approaching. My question is "Why is there a cliff??" It was Obama's job to make sure there is no cliff! Oh, but the republicans in Congress don't want to play nice and they keep getting in the way and saying "No" and bla.. bla... bla... Did anybody expect the republicans to say "well gee mr President, if it's for the good of our country..." Of course not, and the democrats don't want to play nice either.

Of course there were going to be obstacles. It was Obama's job to break through those obstacles. And now we have a cliff.

So now Obama want's to spend more money, which we don't have, on clean energy, which we don't have the infrastructure to support, so even more people will end up out of a job and in need of government assistance. Unless, of course, they're lucky enough to land one of those newly created minimum wage part time jobs.

We need a smart, successful, business leader in the White House, and we need him there now! November can't get here soon enough. We can worry about fixing social issues and clean energy and foreign aid and all that stuff later. Right now we have to fix this economy because if we don't, all those other issues won't mean squat. Comes November, say NO to Obamanomics.

Romney/Ryan 2012!!

I'm not Mitt Romney but if I was, I would endorse this message. I'm also not Barack Obama, but if I was I would make a bunch of excuses and spend a bunch of money whine about how unfair this message is.
+Everett Smith Name calling is for preschoolers, your are only discrediting yourself. And are you sure it is not Amercia?
LOL put the blame where it's due boys and girls. Partisan politics from the obvious party affiliation for idiots have stifled the recovery each and every turn, especially on the state level. I don't need to itemize it all for you, since you probably already know, you just don't know whose fault it really is. hint: it's not the Dems this time around hahahahaha

+Alan Tanner Wow... way to represent your side.  That's really going to convince some people to change sides.  You've made some really interesting and intelligent points in that statement.  You're just so witty(!) Congratulations.
Wait, so Old Jimmy Carter's grandson released the tape beause he thought it would make New Jimmy Carter's opponent look bad?
Does that about sum it up?
New Jimmy Carter = Obama.
Just in case you were educated in a democrat stronghold.
Diaoyu islands belong to China ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Congrats Mr. President. And now your Presidency can begin! It is time to reach out to elder statesmen, ex-Presidents, leaders and thinkers to assemble a compelling case for the Nation coming together. It is the only path forward. I hope and trust you are thinking along the same lines. There is an amazing opportunity right now, if you move right now. The Republicans can no longer continue down the road they've been on for the past 10 years, and they know it! All prayers and thoughts supporting the next needed steps for a true measure of legacy.
Dear Obama you have experience as a President of US but now it is time for you to look for people of US, where the country really needs Reshuffle. Best Of Luck !!
almost, alioth! hehehehehe =b
Happy New Year!
Where are the jobs at? Unemployment is still at an all time high.
Like kill some more eagles."Right "
I would say in 08 i heard that when back to school, the school i chose was not for me but i enjoyed the major and it still plays a major part of my life today the issue is lack of for some tools, transportation, lunch money are gas, rent and not to forget that people have loss there lives in some events installing? So there is a strong need for a 101 class on how to make solar methods a way of today is by teaching 8 weeks at lease/2 weeks to watch, and see how a crew work, whats best for a flat roof are a A frame, the do and don't when installing.
