You can begin your spring cleaning with those multiple remote controls many of us have lying around, eating up valuable potato-chip real estate.

As stubborn as it was, winter is finally over. For a while there it seemed as if the cold weather wasn’t quite ready to bid its farewell, but literally like clockwork, along comes spring and, with it, our desire to tidy things up a bit. As we let more sunlight into homes and bask in the delight of warmer weather, it’s only natural that we look around and begin to visualize a neater and more organized way of life, at least for the next few months.

Sometimes, there are those cameras in life that are overwhelmingly alluring, yet make you simultaneously scratch your head.
For me, it's the Linhof Technorama 612 PC

Sometimes, there are those cameras in life that are overwhelmingly alluring, yet make you simultaneously scratch your head. For me, the Linhof Technorama 612 PC has always been one of these cameras, on my bucket list of cameras to own someday, but I cannot explain why. I'm not much of a practitioner or a fan, per se, of panoramic photos and I'm also not especially partial to wide-angle lenses.

The letter “F.” It is one of the most powerful letters in all of photography.

The letter “F.” It is one of the most powerful letters in all of photography. In the automotive world, BMW virtually owns “M.” In the tech world, Apple conquered the “i.” In 1959, when Nikon rolled out its first ever single-lens reflex (SLR) camera, the company took possession of “F” and it has been symbolic in the photography world ever since.Photographs ©Todd Vorenkamp

Photographing Floyd Bennett Field with the Leica M3
*http://bhpho.to/1Tivpuh*
My father was an aviation buff. As a teenager in Coney Island, in the mid-1930s, he would often ride his bike to Floyd Bennett Field, a nearby naval base where he befriended many of the aircraft mechanics, while also learning a thing or two about fixing aircraft engines.

People often ask me, "Todd, what can I do with old photo equipment?”
Somehow, an older digital or film camera is occupying space on a shelf in your closet, or taking up room in a drawer somewhere. Or, maybe a loved one has died and his or her photography gear has been entrusted to you. Or, maybe you just decided to hang on to that early-model 6-megapixel DSLR that you used 10 years ago.People often ask me, "Todd, what can I do with old photo equipment?”Well, besides the obvious, there are some interesting options ...

When working with tangible photographic media, the utmost care is necessary to preserve the lifespan and quality of your products.

When working with tangible photographic media, the utmost care is necessary to preserve the lifespan and quality of your products. Unlike digital media, photographic film and inkjet and traditional darkroom prints can be affected by environmental conditions and handling, and proper techniques can be a simple way to maintain the quality and appearance of your media over time.
