There were a lot of amazing photos that came out of Winter Storm Jonas. But whether you called it Jonas or just The Blizzard of the Year, one thing is certain: the photo that has been shared more than any other captured during the blizzard has to be Blizzard Snow Storm in NYC by Michele Palazzo.

The world looks different at night. That, more than anything, continues to drive me toward night photography.

The world looks different at night. That, more than anything, continues to drive me toward night photography. I started doing photography with a Kodak 110 film point-and-shoot camera, which was completely incapable of performing satisfying night shots due to its lack of manual exposure control. The night beckoned me. On the very first roll of 35mm film I shot with my trusty Nikon 6006 are some (very bad) long exposures of jet aircraft taking off a...

The Canon 50mm f/1.4 and 100mm L-Series Macro = True Love!
There are certain combinations that just work well together—peanut butter and jelly for instance—so it should come as no surprise that a complementary pair of lenses isn't too hard to come by. In this case, we are talking about the classic Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM and the respected EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM.

Have Some Fun in the Sun without the Fuss
*http://bhpho.to/29H9PAy*
When I was in high school, going to the beach was easy. My friends and I would grab a towel and a Frisbee, jump on our bikes and ride a mile to Theodore Roosevelt Park, in Oyster Bay. In college, we’d pile into someone’s car and drive to Jones Beach or Robert Moses State Park. Now that we’re older and we’re all married, and many of us have kids, going to the beach is decidedly more complicated.

I just got off the phone with +B and H.... I've never dealt with a more condescending customer service representative "Lee" in my life and I'm pretty much that at my job. Only I'm in support. I curse (we don't use that language here) the fuck... You don't but WE most certainly do. The entire listing was false. Is this how you do business by trying to temper the language of an already upset new customer who won't be returning?

This could have been a good opportunity to keep a new customer but I get it you're making money hand over fist so my little $600 and future photography endeavours likely mean nothing to you. But trust me every chance I get I will turn people away from you. I used to recommend your services to clients for computers needs as well NEVER AGAIN. All I'm asking for is my money back so that I can purchase the camera that i want, in the condition described which determines the price I'm willing to pay.

I'd never pay full price for an open boxed item from China. And I would expect a company with a reputation such as yours to disclose this on the product page.

When I asked you to price match you gave me this bullshit about the camera not being under manufacturer warranty. And then you send me a device NOT covered by the manufacturer warrant! When I called this morning I get told (we're the manufacturer warranty) oh really? You're Sony? Please cut the bullshit. And trying to censor an already irate customers choice in language isn't the best policy especially considering the issues you've have choosing the people to interact with your customer base. You're not the only business in town and thanks to this transaction you'll not be getting another dime from me nor a recommendation to purchase from any of my customers.

Yesterday's Email from Me:

I have packed and reshipped the camera not two hours after getting it, I am going on vacation the middle of next week. UPS ground to california is going to take too long (a week from what the UPS store rep tells me) too get to new York, I ordered this second day and I need to get this taken care of as soon as possible, waiting for your mistake to return to the warehouse while moving that slowly is unacceptable. Especially since this box was pretty much just a device and accessories.

Nothing about this order was right. Everything was attached to the body of the camera (Lense and cover) and I have no booklets, no warranty card or Sony gift offers in the box and there is no protective film anywhere on the device.

I ordered this for a vacation to Hong Kong and Tokyo. Which I've already spent an obscene amount of money on. And this transaction has me beyond upset and annoyed, as what I got is not what I ordered. I ordered new, but got an open box item with missing manuals, warranty and offers.

Please, is there anyway you could overnight me a new un-opened U.S model Sony a5100 without Japanese Kanji all over the box? Or refund my money as soon as you get this email so that I can have this device overnighted from another retailer so that I can enjoy my vacation?

The other device you sent me is en route and I have attached the UPS store receipt with tracking number. I would have paid more to over night this back but I shouldn't have too outside of the fact that I don't have the money to do it right now due to trip planning.

This is my first time buying anything from B&H and I would hate for it to be my last as I was planning on purchasing more equipment and possibly a Cannon D80 in the coming months.

Perception is reality and the reality is that the ball was not only dropped in regards to my order. It was punted.

Regardless of your occupation or location, the things in your everyday carry (EDC) kit will often be essential to get you through the day.

Regardless of your occupation or location, the things in your everyday carry (EDC) kit will often be essential to get you through the day. I have several pseudo-EDC kits in my life. I have a kit in the car, one on the boat, one in my bike pannier and, when on foot, a few items that make me feel unbalanced in their absence. Most EDC kits comprise what some consider essential gear, but if you are looking to add to your EDC, check out this list of su...

I always carry a knife or 2 on me unless prohibited from doing so. And if I find someplace that prohibits carrying knives, I generally reconsider my desire to go there.

Virtual Reality is having a Moment, but though the high-end HTC Vive and Oculus Rift headsets are finally available, consumers are already looking for the Next Big Thing.

It’s not a secret that the tech industry is never content. Virtual Reality is having a Moment, but though the high-end HTC Vive and Oculus Rift headsets are finally available, consumers are already looking for the Next Big Thing. Conveniently, it’s right around the corner. Of course, I’m talking about PlayStation VR.

What will our future selfies be like? Our guest, Stephen Mayes, suggests that they may be images of what we think rather than what we see.

What will our future selfies be like? Our guest, Stephen Mayes, suggests that they may be images of what we think rather than what we see. For those of you exasperated by the deluge of duck faces in your social media feed, this may be a terrifying idea, but is the selfie really that bad, and if so, how and why is it different than an artist’s self-portrait? These are the questions we address in this week’s episode and, to do so, we have invited t...

Getting great pictures of your newborn or infant is certainly not kid stuff. Indeed, the window of opportunity for coaxing a perfect expression and a picturesque pose from your little bundle of joy is fleeting, at best.

Getting great pictures of your newborn or infant is certainly not kid stuff. Indeed, the window of opportunity for coaxing a perfect expression and a picturesque pose from your little bundle of joy is fleeting, at best. For parents (and others) who aspire to capture such moments, user-friendly gear, highly functional accessories, and photogenic props can make all the difference. With this in mind, here are our best recommendations to help make ph...

Not all eyes are created equal.
For those without “normal” 20/20 vision, this may be a problem when you look through a camera’s viewfinder—either optical or electronic.

Not all eyes are created equal. For those without “normal” 20/20 vision, this may be a problem when you look through a camera’s viewfinder—either optical or electronic. Your view into the camera might be blurry even when the camera’s lens is in focus. Because of this, your camera’s viewfinder likely has a diopter adjustment (some older cameras do not have diopter adjustments and require the addition of add-on viewfinder lenses to provide the same...
