I have to fully agree with all the positive reviews of the BFC posted on Trip Advisor. My wife and I have had multiple stays along Cheweng Beach over the years and have finally found the ideal resort. We are in the middle of our 23 night holiday and are loving it, the comfortable clean rooms, the spotless linen, the pool the beach, and then as everyone remarks apon, the staff. Everyone is to be congratulated on the way they strive to make a holiday at the BF...C one to remember. We are already talking about our next visit.
My husband and I spent 5 days at this beautiful location here in April and enjoyed it so much we extended our stay by a further 4 days! We had to move rooms due to the one we were in being pre-booked but all the staff were excellent in ensuring our room change was not only acceptable but also effortless! The extra touches, such as the bed turning down service, fresh flowers decorating the bed daily and lighting a candle in the bathroom nightly added to a lovely relaxed and pampered feeling. The food, from the breakfast buffet to the baitong restaurant for lunch or dinner on the beach offered a good choice, well priced and tasted delicious! Finally, a big thank you to all the staff who were always on hand with a smile and made our stay so memorable!
On our Thailand escapades, we stayed in hotels in Bangkok, Koh Samui, Krabi, Phi Phi and Phuket. Banana Fan sea was hands down the absolute best resort in the whole 2 weeks we were in Thailand.
This is how much the staff are willing to go an extra mile:
1) We were picked up at the airport by a cheerful man who greeted us with cold towels and water before driving us through the characterful town and pointing out some important landmarks. When we got to the lobby, I realized that I had left my hand luggage in the airport. Without hesitation, he hurried me back and rushed around the airport asking security if they'd found my bag, and eventually found it. I didn't even have to lift a finger! My stupid mishap was saved by the quality service of the staff.
2) If you're looking for the best advice for things to do in the area, ask for Pop. She works in the tourism department of the hotel. When we were at a loss for what to do, she basically planned our whole trip for us without the motive of her receiving commission. She recommended local Thai cuisine, great shows to go to and beautiful things to see. When we praised her, she replied, "I just want to see you smiling". - Such a sweetheart!
3) The staff in general are extremely attentive, welcoming and uplifting. I did not pass one member of the team who did not give me a warm smile, greeting me with a bow and "Sawas dee kaaa". Always splendid.
The room was lovely and spacious. We had a garden facing suite which was only a minute walk from the beach and the pool. There is a lot of greenery, including banana fans (go figure), which adds to a perfect jungle feel. The one criticism I have is that the shower was either very cold of very hot. Saying that, it didn't matter enough for us to report it to be fixed, and I'm sure that if we did, they would have solved the issue.
Big pool, although not very inviting - that may be because the beach right next to it is absolutely breathtaking. There are beach massages available for only around 300 baht. Watersports, sunbeds and a view that can make you cry. At around 6pm, the hotel changes the setting, bringing out romantic lanterns and playing music that accompanies that island paradise vibe perfectly.
Perfect location - you walk out of the hotel and you're on Chaweng Road. Walking down there in the evening is lovely - there are stores selling your typical touristy items, bars, restaurants, cabaret shows and cars going up and down advertising the Muay Thai boxing events. The furthest you would have to travel from the hotel is if you were going on a tour which is usually approx 30 minute drive away - but as far as evening entertainment goes, the location is perfect.
Another nice touch is that the staff take a picture of you on arrival and departure of the hotel. This is a lovely sentimental addition to the 'family' feel of the hotel.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back in the near future.
