"Its not the start or the end but its the things you do in the middle that count." Beautiful answer by +Chris Hadfield to a 5 year old's question.
Here is a direct link:

An upset 5 year loses sleep worrying that the Voyager space probe might be lonely, Chris Hadfield talks to him about it and I got misty-eyed.
This is, hands down, the sweetest thing you'll hear today. A five-year-old named Timor from British Columbia has been having trouble sleeping because he worries about the Voyager space probe. Won't it get lonely? What if it crashes? So the CBC arranged for him to get some reassurance.

This is a really cool set of ads. Good job Orkin.

Saw the intro to one of the spots in this playlist as part of a YouTube pre-roll ad. This is probably one of the few times I've ever let a skippable ad keep running past the skip point, much less click on it to access the direct play page. This is a very clever series of spots.

Please take some time to view  +Lawrence Lessig's video on http://mayday.us and donate to save our republic.
#MAYDAYUS

I last posted about +Lawrence Lessig and his attempt to create a crowdfunded SuperPAC to end all SuperPACs - an effort to end money's corrupting effect on politics in America.

https://mayday.us/

The Mayday SuperPAC started with an ambitious goal: $1 million in 30 days. They raised it in 2 weeks and secured a match, which means it has already added up to $2 million dollars.

Now they are trying to raise $5 million by July 4th. This is an effort worth your contribution. Even just a little. Instead of buying that $5 game on the app store, or that coffee, or the $10 on the movie ticket - why not contribute to restoring democracy?

And a great thing about this is that it isn't partisan. This isn't about funding only Democrats or only Republicans. It's about getting folks elected who will put an end to the tyranny of money in our democracy. It fights fire with fire.

Help me make it happen. https://mayday.us/

Thanks everyone for your feedback about the Google+ notifications launch yesterday. We’ve realized that there were a few shortcomings in the new desktop Google+ notification tray, so we’re reverting back to the original notifications experience for now. We value your feedback and will continue to work on new ways to improve the Google+ notifications experience.
Thank you.

We know notifications are an important way for you to remain connected to the content and people you are interested in on Google+. To this end, we are adding a dedicated view of notifications to the Google+ desktop site.

You can now browse notifications by clicking on the bell at the top right corner of the Google+ page. The new tray is a simple list that allows you to quickly scan all notifications and view the relevant content with a single click.

Looking for just your unread notifications? Just click on the filter on top and select “Unread notifications”.

This feature will roll out to all users soon. As usual, do send us feedback.

Without Net Neutrality the web will be a completely different place. Innovation would slow down (along with the traffic) as startup companies will be squeezed by the service providers you are paying money to delivery traffic to your house.
So lodge your complaint now. It took me 10 seconds to enter my comment so there really is no excuse to not do it.

Do you like the internet? Tell the FCC to protect it!

The FCC has proposed rules that would allow paid "fast lanes" on the internet. Many people (including me) not to mention hundreds of tech companies like Amazon, Twitter, Facebook, Google, and Microsoft, Yahoo--plus tons of startups--worry that the FCC's proposed rules will break the internet in very bad ways.

So here's where the internet needs you. If you feel strongly that the the internet need protection from paid fast lanes, join me in telling the FCC to protect the internet. It's easy to do! Here's how:

1. Go to http://apps.fcc.gov/ecfs/hotdocket/list and look for docket number 14-28 ("Protecting and Promoting the Open Internet") and click on 14-28.

2. Enter your name and address, and your comments. That's it!

For example, I'll be writing that "the FCC should protect net neutrality by reclassifying broadband providers as common carriers under Title II."

But it literally takes under a minute to give your opinion to the FCC. Write whatever you feel, but if you like the internet and want it protected, you need to tell the FCC now. Right now, there's 21,549 comments on the FCC's proposed rules. I think there should be at least a hundred thousand comments from people on the web telling the FCC not to allow paid fast lanes on the net. Please tell the FCC what you think!
