One of the movies I can never tire of watching is the Kareena Kapoor – Shahid Kapoor starrer Jab We Met. That girl, Geet, was so full of life and cheer that every moment of life was a celebration. Now why are we talking about this movie in a post that should talk about Baggit’s Spring Summer 2015 collection? Read that tagline – ‘Play the life game’? The moment I read it, it brought memories of this film flooding into mind. Remember the scene when she elopes from home with Aditya and they are holed up in the roof of her sprawling mansion? She then says the following: “…kyunki ye mera favorite game hai – Zindagi!” Now you know the connection! And our collection at hand is indeed brimming with life and has a bag for each of this game’s hits and misses. - See more at:

We girls like to be perfectly co-ordinated in our outfits. It gives out a strong message that we are well informed and savvy in our choices, independent in our thinking. But unless you have unlimited budget and space in your closet, you really cannot go on buying a new bag with every new outfit. The next best option is to put what you have to multiple uses. Carrying one bag with multiple outfits is one way to do it. The other, more exciting way, is to carry the same bag in multiple ways with the same outfit! Enumerated below are the various ways you can do this.

Browsing my Facebook feed a few weeks ago, I first came across glimpses of The Leather Boutique’s Sighs of Nature bags. The teasers hinted at a travel theme but as more bags were unveiled, it was clear that the collection is a fine balance between work and fun.
As Zeshan Rahman, founder of TLB, tells me, ‘Sighs of Nature’ is the tag given to their Spring Summer ’15 collection to add a dash of drama. Bingo. But also hidden is a strong message. Technology has pervaded our lives like never before. Whether at home or on the go, we are inseparable from our screens. Times are such that we cannot completely do away with gadgets but we must inculcate the discipline to pull ourselves away from the virtual world and revel in the physical one, with those present around us at right then, right there. Nature too, ‘sighs’ at this lapse of judgment and wishes man would connect with her more often. Hence, the term holds good. Well, now that’s my interpretation of the name! :) Do let me know if it inspires you to think on other lines!

I seem to have lost all sense of time. I’m only faintly aware of Day and Night chasing each other relentlessly; arriving at the current date, month, day and season is an exercise in concentration. So when I saw the press release of Baggit’s Monsoon Collection, I went, ‘Monsoon Collection? Already?’ A quick reality check confirmed that it was not Baggit but I who was out of step with the rolling seasons.

Some opinions are cemented forever. I’ve held this idea for the longest time that all cameras of the world have a conspiracy against me. Even the most inanimate object would outdo me in being photogenic. With the result that I was always maintaining a safe distance from the lenses. That was before starting this blog. Then came the beauties – bags after bags with functional shapes, irresistible textures, colors and stylized details. Putting up their pics in posts, I started yearning to feature alongside them. I have started to take baby steps in this direction but I’m just a girl-next-door with no background in fashion and it’s just my passion that drives me on. So if you find the pictures to be less than glossy or not magazine-like, you know why! Moreover, my intent through these pages is to portray a simple, everyday look and for when we might not be picture-perfect on a daily basis!

Talk about the power of encouragement and heart-felt appreciation that can become the wind beneath wings and take you soaring into the land of possibilities. That’s exactly what happened when entrepreneur Ankita Chowdhary did a small project in college and exhibited her accessories at the tender age of 20. The tremendous response and appreciation she got ultimately led to the launch of her eponymous label Ank. -

Holii is adept at showing us how to have a contemporary sense of style while still connected to our roots. The brand has done this time and again and this time is no different. With a common color theme of deep blue, fiery red and muted brown, and gold hardware, the bags drip sheer elegance and exuberance. The Tango collection is inspired by “a vivid manifestation of pop music” and truly the colors blend in with each other in perfect harmony to create stunning end products.

Make no mistake – you are still at BagsLounge, we are not diversifying into culinary reviews and we are very much talking about bags still. Aditi Prakash’s Pure Ghee Designs is thus named to evoke a sense of purity and extravagance like only shudh desi ghee (clarified butter in Hindi) can. How you ask? Read on…
