Remember the days when if you were ill it meant you tucked up in bed for a few days? These days we don't seem to have time for that! There were also certain foods to that were said to aid the invalid's recuperation. We reprise some old favourites from a 1940's recipe book on the blog today. Stay well. :-)

My friend Janine will remember giving me this recipe in 1999. Since then I have made this delicious slice probably dozens of times. It will do double duty as a tin filler or dessert. I think of it as a cheat's Lemon Meringue Pie. Delish!
