Absolutely fantastically chic and romantic. Food is amazing. Chic crowd. Very New york and yes it's very expensive.

It was my first time dining in this restaurant, and my initial impression to my first visit is that it was a wonderful dining experience. You get a great value for your money, especially for the taste and flavor of the food that they serve. Everyone who was working there was very efficient and performed their jobs very well. Since we were one of the first customers at dinnertime, I think head chef or maybe the owner even approached our table and asked if the food was okay and if were happy about our orders. Talk about great customer service. I would definitely come back here and try their other dishes.

Simply amazing. Babbo is always an experience, and you will see celebrities here. It's pretty much impossible to get a reservation, so go at 5 pm and try to get a seat at the bar. If you're lucky enough to get in, order the garganelli with funghi trifolati, and try not to publicly weep about how amazing it is.

Absolutely fantastic. I'd strongly recommend getting the pasta tasting menu with the wine pairing. I went here with my boyfriend for our anniversary dinner, and it was perfectly suited for that -- the ambience was classy, the service was great, and the food (of course) was delicious. I heard that it was hard to get in, so I called one month in advance to make a reservation on the upper floor.

I ordered scallops crudo and was surprised when they came raw. I have an elementary understanding of Italian (studied abroad there where I not only took Italian but also an Italian cooking class) and it did not occur to me - or the person with whom I was eating - that crudo means raw. But somehow, all of the waiters there thought it was obvious. If the rest of the food had been worth the price and blown me away, I wouldn't have been unhappy. But it wasn't. Further, if you're charging those prices and someone is unhappy with a small part of their meal (we probably spent upward of $300 for two people and the scallop appetizer cost $19), they should take it off your bill instead of telling you that "you should have known." I would recommend going to a smaller Italian restaurant for better service and better food.

I am a native New Yorker and will keep to the directness of how we are known to be :) Food: Excellent! This is a Mario Batali creation and doesn't disappoint. I had the Tasting menu w/the wine pairing and was impressed by each course. I highly recommend the Papparedelle and Panna Cotta. Drinks: Excellent. Great wine list. The sommelier make great recommendations. Space: Very intimate and romantic. Reserve ahead since it often has a waiting list. Scene: People watching. Romantic. Date Night. Special occasion. Crowd: 30-60s Great for date night or get togethers. Service: Excellent, very courteous & professional.
