As we prepare for our World Clean Up event tomorrow, read about our pledge to remove ALL single-use plastic from our three campuses by 2020. This is an exciting step in ensuring that we teach our students about sustainable living and a crucial part of meeting the Global Goals for Sustainable Development. #NAEUNICEF #NAEBeAmbitious #GoGreen #SayNoToPlastic #2020PlasticPledge #WorldCleanUpDay https://bit.ly/2M1ez2q

A double hit today at our Junior Campus! #RoaldDahlDay fell right in the middle of #ReadANewBook month! Their were lots of celebrations, and prizes, to be had when the Golden Tickets were discovered in the middle of some of our lonelier books. (Just like Charlie in Charlie and the Chocolate factory!)

At BIS HCMC our aim is to provide our primary school children with the academic knowledge and practical skills they need to become successful life-long learners from an early age. We are therefore proud to announce that our primary students once again out-performed other International Schools worldwide and national standards in the UK for the 2017-18 academic year. https://bit.ly/2Q7V9vW

In July, three BIS HCMC students had the opportunity of a lifetime to spend a week at the United Nations Headquarters in New York taking part in a Model United Nations and working with students from around the world on actions to tackle some of the issues faced in our world today.

Here, Doan Nguyen (Year 13), Vy Nguyen (Year 12) and Ashley Lee (Year 11) describe their experience: https://bit.ly/2PHW9Wz

As we are part of a family of schools comprising over 50,000 students from 56 schools in 26 countries, Nord Anglia Education represents a truly globalised student body. That means the books we select for our students ought to represent our international communities and span across genres.

NAE’s Global Library is a global reading club comprising accessible, exciting and inspiring stories from different countries, and also includes bilingual titles. This year’s key piece of literature for the group is “The Breadwinner” by Deborah Ellis. Suitable for ages 11 and up, this novel tells the compelling story of Parvana, a young girl in Afghanistan who must disguise herself as a boy to become the breadwinner for her family.

Why not encourage your child to read one of these Global Library books during International Read A New Book Month?

We’re excited and proud to announce that NAE has begun rolling out the drama section of the Juilliard-Nord Anglia Performing Arts Programme to our school. This marks the start of our students experiencing a holistic approach to learning the Performing Arts!

For example, studying drama is more than just learning how to act — our students learn a range of transferrable skills that can be used across all their subjects, which help to build skills that will stay with your child for life. Rachel White-hunt, Director of Performing Arts at the @British International School Washington talks about how she enhances the way she teaches a dramatic work using music and dance.
